Phenomenal Package for the Cost
I love this product. To be clear I don't consider myself an "audiophile" in the sense that I can pick out every individual note, but I was sitting on an aging surround sound system that was getting so bad we could barely hear the dialog and the front right speaker was crackling with static. I decided to try this out because it was so well-priced. I received it, took it out of the box, and was immediately impressed with the set up. There are just a few parts that snap together, a few screws to lock them in place, and you're done. All of the speaker wires are included. The rear set up is seamless - just plug in the receiver, connect the speakers, then turn on the main unit. I used the microphone for auto-calibration and it worked flawlessly, even adjusting for the fact one of the rear speakers is naturally amplified because it's in a corner (it adjusted the decibels to adapt). The universal remote recognized my Vizeo TV and Comcast Motorola cable box and I was watching Netflix videos in minutes (the longest part of the setup was taking the time to enter passwords using the remote control). I was literally watching cable, Netflix, DVDs (have to go out and buy some Blue-Ray now), and even playing music from my phone within minutes. We watched an action-packed movie and were able to play it loud with no distortion, clear bass and clean dialog. I definitely recommend this system - it delivered beyond my expectations.

Added another Sony product to my collection of electronics
Sound is amazing and clear and the unit is easy to assemble.Everything is color coded so set up is a breeze, Bluetooth one touch is easy to use, and works well. I like controlling devices through my tablet and the Sony app works well without any problems. Has three HDMI connections (one is ARC), a toslink, and several A/V connections. Speakers can be wall mounted or used with stands. The wireless speakers has a fairly small receiver box that requires power so consider that when thinking about room placement of the speakers. Overall very happy with the system. I will post a video review in the future to demonstrate the unit working.Sony BDV-N8100W 5.1 Channel 3D Blu-ray Disc Home Theater System with Wireless Rear Speakers

Sony lost a lifetime customer
The unit broke while under warranty. Dealing with Sony has been nothing short of a nightmare. They demanded the whole product be sent back for an exchange (at a cost of $140 shipping), but now they are holding the unit hostage and say it really just needs to be fixed (the blu-ray stopped playing discs, nothing was ever wrong with the speakers). How did I find out they switched it from an exchange to a repair? I had to keep calling to see what was going on because they will not EVER contact you. I still now have no idea when or if I will ever see the unit again. I feel like they basically stole my property. Sony does not stand behind their products, and their customer service is non-existent. They promised to call me back later in the day, and never did. That was 2 days ago. They've had my unit in their possession for over 16 days, and I still cannot get a straight answer on what is going on. I ask to speak to a manager, and they say things like "I do not have the power to escalate this." It's like once their product goes bad on you, you are the enemy and no longer someone they want to deal with. Very disappointed I bought this product or let them steal it back from me. I should have just taken the blu-ray player into a local repair shop. Silly me, I figured it was under warranty and the company would want to make things right. Sony, you lost a lifetime customer.

Know your stuff!!
I had an old Sony system purchased in 2006. It died and I couldn't just listen tot he TV sound again. I studied, researched, and debated before finally choosing this unit. I love the sound it produces. You must know what you're doing to get everything set up. The calibration took some time. Then there was the general set up. Choosing the settings and deciding my preferences. The biggest con on this system is it takes 40- 45 seconds to start up so I'm looking at a TV with no sound for that time. When I first connected it, I could turn on the TV but still have sound. I finally figured out how to wire it so when the TV is off the sound also goes of.. I do love the sound it produces.

Disappointing Form and Function
Very disappointing for the price point. Doesn't sound as good as my old panasonic (DVD, non-BluRay), takes many seconds to turn on when I want to load a disc, top-loading tray is sliding which is neither convenient nor cool, and the whole thing is in tacky black plastic from the sixties.
