🚫🐾 Keep your garden a critter-free zone with style!
The Havahart 5277 Critter Ridder is a motion-activated animal repellent and sprinkler system designed to effectively deter nuisance animals like dogs, raccoons, and opossums. With an infrared sensor that detects movement within a 60-foot range, it releases a startling surge of water while using only 2-3 cups of water per spray. Its metal spike allows for easy placement in any lawn or garden, making it a practical solution for maintaining your outdoor space.

it works + make sure you tighten everything.
I wish it had a remote so I can turn it off when I am going into my yard. other then that it works great, the cat have stop coming by - but they are smart now they are going where the water doens hit them and they are pooping there so I am getting two more, they are in for a suprise. but I will have to be careful because I will get hit too LOL untill I turn it off just to work on my yard. I hope they invent one with a remote.

As it ages...
Item worked great for six months, then began "falseing" at every sensitivity setting and going off needlessly. It is facing a block wall in Phoenix that is facing the sun as well as facing a small tree/large bush that waves with a little wind. It could be mistakenly thinking the hot wall is a large animal and the moving branches are the animal moving. Why it didn't "false" for the first six months, I don't know. When it worked, it worked great and prevented my dogs from peeing and pooping on my artificial turf. Now, it doesn't work properly and it's off.

Further update: Good customer service
Update: Contacted the manufacturer via Amazon. They replied today and said they are sending a replacement unit. Yay!Worked great for the summer and autumn. Noticed it wasn’t working and thought it needed new batteries. When I went to replace the batteries found the case had leaked and was full of water. Tried the batteries anyway but no go. This is coastal SC where it rarely freezes. Not a durable item. For some unknown reason I had to assemble it twice before it worked. But then it worked perfect. Definitely seems to be a decrease in obnoxious cat traffic since. As a footnote : Yesterday it seemed to go off several times an hour for no reason. Then I noticed it was windy weather. They moving branches were enough to trigger it!

Pure Unadulterated Garbage!!!
Yeah look at the picture it really says it all!!This is only good if you want to provide a drinking fountain for raccoons!Hey Havaheart!!! So far the score is Raccoon's one (1) Haveahart Zero (0)Yeah Havehart the Racoons are making a fool out of your brand and your product!! The sensor is so weak and has such a narrow field to it they just walked around the piece of junk grabbed it by the head held it and drank from it while it was running. The Racoons turned this fraudulently advertised piece of junk into a toy and their own private water dispenser. This is the major flaw other accompanying flaws are as follows:Junk and I do mean cheap plastic junk construction.Upon assembly leaks were present had to tighten down further. After it worked for a while it started leaking again requiring more tightening. Not a big deal just figured I’d go ahead and use some Teflon tape to better secure the fittings.I never got around to putting the Teflon tape on though, because the sprinkler head portion of it flew off into the air and into the yard.So I went ahead and decrease the pressure to the hose thinking that might be the issue after snapping it back on.Next the triggering / valve sprinkling portion malfunctioned and continued running after it was triggered. Turned it off then back on @3:00 AM. Not Acceptable!!!Lastly, while activated with new batteries & water running the raccoons, turned this supposed deterrent into a private drinking fountain, please see the picture. You can’t stage a photo like this ,It really says it all.One star folks I would give you zero if it was at all possible, this is being returned. I do not advise anybody waste your time or money on this shoddy and useless, seriously flawed garbage.Amazon please pull this garbage, it is a waste of everyone’s time and money.

Works just well enough not to return it
I had high hopes for this item, and while I will keep it, I am not thrilled with it. I think they could have done a better job and would rather have gotten a better performing unit for 10 or 20 more dollars. The main issue is, even on minimum sensitivity, it randomly engages for no apparent reason. I bought this to keep our dogs away from a part of our yard where they dig and bark at the neighbors dog. It does appear it is deterring them from being in that area but unfortunately, with it going off all of the time we will be wasting a lot of batteries and water. You can tell as you open it that it was pretty cheaply made so I’m not even sure how long it will last to be brutally honest. I have no experience with motion activated sprinklers, so I don’t know if this is just the way they are or if this is one of those inferior Products. All that said, it does do what it is supposed to do. It just does it too much.

Hard to assemble/adjust BUT works on deer
I bought this BUT a it needs way clearer instructions. So here they are:1. Buy a double valve so you can can attach this to your main water and keep both your regular hose and add a second hose for this sprayer.2. You will get wet so put on a bsuit and flips.3. The timer is tricky and very sensitive so be aware it doesn’t shoot your windows (I ended up washing them all)4. Under the head the is a u shaped green spacer (with a metal bar in between) that looks like one part but IT’S TWO. It actually splits and can separate from each other. This is what gives you the range of the spray from tight to all the way to 360. This is not shown anywhere and even the manufacturer said it doesn’t exist. LOL5. The stake should not be attached to wet ground as it works out and again sprays you or your windows.6. Do the batteries first! Then assemble unit but not the stake bottom. Then attach hose and last the stake. Makes it easier then twisting the hose around w the stake attached.7. Finally adjust the water length of spray w the wheel...also hard to see is if you have big hands like my husband.8. Seems to be working as my new roses are still intact from the deer.

Buen producto.
El producto es bueno y funcional, fácil de armar, seria estupendo si la batería fuese solar. Es necesaria una buena presión en la línea de abastecimiento para que funcione plenamente.

This product can not last through snow season
Unfortunately, there are no temperature range defined in data sheet. We had snow and next morning the pipe burst when water wanted to spray when the sensor was activated by movement. This is hard to believe as this is a Canadian product where snow is the order of the day during winter season.Extremely disappointed as this product lasted not even 3 months.

Keeps the mother in law away.
Installed multiples around the compound and she has yet to breach the perimeter without getting a dose! Highly recommend. As a bonus feature it also keeps unwanted critters away.

Bueno.. pero
Funciona bien.. me gusta mucho PERO tienes que tener buena presión de agua para que sirva bien… si no… echa un poquito a un metro nada más

Did The job, adjust your expectation though.
Kind of a gimmick was hilarious to watch, the sensor with water spray worked great and did its job.I had this connected with above average priced hose connections and accessories and still leaked so wouldn't leave this unsupervised if waters expensive in your area.
