It’s a gerber.
Well. I’m a Gerber knife guy. Carried a fast draw for years. Any I’ve broke, was no shock it was gonna break due to what I was doing. It’s ok, always buy another. This one is small. Smaller than I expected. Still a great piece. Made a little boy happy, gave him his first Gerber.

WOW! Just an Awsome Knife!
WOW! What can I say other than, This Knife is just Awsome! This knife comes with a 3 inch Blade which is Partially Serrated, and a Handle that is 4.4 Inches. This Knife is flat out solid! Its Very Sharp straight from the package... (A hair sharper than my Serrated Gerber Contrast). This blade passed the paper test so easily it was a joke! It sliced right through so well I was almost convinced it was razor sharp. The Serration on the blade isn't Very aggressive, its more like a Light/Medium design that works for cutting Wire, Thick Rope, and will do well on Small pieces of Wood! The whole Piece seems very sturdy. Its got a good Frame Lock on it that is very easy to operate. The Blade is easy to Open and Close! In fact you have to be very careful! The Knife I received moved so freely that I actually had to tighten it a little bit because a few times of unlocked the blade it freely fell onto my thumb. After tightening the screw, it was perfect and still Easy to Open and Close. Now keep note, when you open the blade, don't try to use the studs, they are just there for support against the thumb. You really want to stick your thumb in the hole of the blade and use the Stud for support. This makes the Knife Much Much Easier to Operate! For some reason other Reviews blame the studs for having bad positioning... But I don't see it... I think they just aren't using the Hole on the blade itself which is what i think Gerber intended for ease of opening. The Handle is all metal so if your hands are wet you wont have as much grip but thats a personal preference issue and I personally dont have a problem with that. The Clip on the handle is very good and flexible enough to clip onto your belt or Jeans. This Clip Design is also good for keeping it concealed so it hides the actual handle and only the Clip is exposed which is a plus as well.I really can't find much wrong with the knife... This is as easy and simple as a knife can get. For the Price I think this knife is worth it for anyone that wants a cheap simple EDC. I tried to find things wrong with it but I couldn't. Its just Awsome all around! If you have any issues pertaining to this knife in general than its going to be all about your personal preference of what you want out of it. I couldn't find any issues. I think its a perfect Knife and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone! I give it 5/5 stars! Nice Job Gerber!Note: If you need to tighten or Loosen the blade, you will Need a "T8 Sized" Star Bit, but if you want to fully Service this knife... You Will Need 3 Sizes: A T6, T7, and T8!

Would buy again
Must have for any handy guy. The clip helps keep it within an easy reach when your hands are full.

I'm happy but not ecstatic with it
So I bought this knife because I like Gerber knives, usually, and it was cheap. $11 something when I bought it, and I wanted something around 3" to carry in my waistband at work. This fits the bill.It came sharp, is super smooth to open (as far as the smoothness of the hinge) and light. Its a quality purchase for a few bucks....That said, my quibbles:1) the thumb stud is too close to the hinge. Yes, this helps keep it out the way, but it also makes it a bit of a bear to leverage open. Once it's started it swings open smoothly and locks securely in place, but it's not always a 1-handed job.2) The thumb lock is a PITA to release with one hand. I'm not sure if it's the ergos of the handle or that the material is super stiff (not entirely a bad thing), but I often have to use two hands to close this sucker.... and that bugs me. I have several Kersh knives with assisted opening and they close easily with 1 hand.... I wish this was more like those. however, I like the serrations more on the Gerber.Anyway, if it's <$13 I'd give a strong recommendation. If it's > $17 I still recommend it but I'd also look a little long at the competition to see what else is out there in the $20-ish market. That's my $0.02.Hope that helps.Cheers,-Rbt

bought two, returning one
I really appreciate being able to open my EDC knife with one hand. Lately I've had to switch and use my left hand which was no problem for my beloved Spyderco. This Ripstop is open-able with one hand IF, like another reviewer said, you use the hole in the blade. The thumb studs are completely worthless if you ask me.The other caveat is that the clip covers the left side so if I was keeping the knife I'd have to remove the clip to open it left-handed. I have lots of knives but just keep going back to my Spyderco Ladybug!! :-) Easy to open, disappears in my pocket and my small (women's) hands can open it one handed, easily. I use it all the time. This Ripstop did close easily btw :-). I also opened up a Paraframe Mini today and I couldn't close it and my husband had some trouble!! Plus I totally spaced, the Paraframe has NO thumb assist, no hole in the blade. So one Ripstop is going to a right-handed nephew and one along with both Paraframes are being returned :-(.I've never actually returned a knife before so this is a sad day LOL ;-).
