I have used every shampoo for body for my old, thinning, colored long hair. All turn my hair into hay. Thought I would try this one too. It seemed weird to try to wash my hair with an oddly shaped, little soap bar. Hmm...I did not get much lather on the first round, but did on the second. And now, where to put it? It is a storage challenge..don't want to keep in the shower it would rinse away. I let it dry on my hand soap holder at my sink. When dry, stuffed it back into the box it came in. And now for the result..THE BEST EVER! my hair has body, lifted from my scalp (I usually use the Ordinary drops to get that effect, or other added spray products for root lifting)...but no need. My hair is shiny, has body and I can go 3-4 days or maybe even 5 before washing. I want it to last so my second use, I used my old shampoo and then get a wonderful lather and know how to use less than the first time

It has a nice scent. I wish the box had a wax layer inside, so I could store the bar inside the box between uses, but the box is already falling apart, and I have just been using it for less than a month. It seems to clean my hair very well, but I was hoping that the clean would last more than one day. I'm the type of girl who washes her hair every other day, and I am always on the lookout for a shampoo that keeps my hair clean for at least two days. This product doesn't do that.

To preface my interview, I will describe my hair type and washing pattern. My hair is fine, straight, and OILY. I wash my hair every time I work out, which is usually five days per week. I love the volumizing conditioner from Hi Bar and I needed a new shampoo bar so I decided to try the matching one. After using it three times, my scalp is dry and itchy. I never get flakes or an itchy scalp, so this is new to me. I ended up scratching one part so bad that it bled. I liked how clean it was making my hair feel after using it, but it seems like it cleans too well.If this can happen to me, Mrs. Oil Slick, I do believe it would happen to most people with normal or dry scalps. I may try the moisturizing shampoo bar from them.

I love this specific formula by HiBar. It is perfect for my medium-long & thick hair, lathers good while leaving a clean feeling not full of shampoo residue like some other recipes can do. I try to shampoo every other day to keep some natural oils in my hair and only use conditioner on the bottom part beyond my scalp to also prevent waxy or oily residue some conditioner bars can leave behind. I’ve tried many other shampoo bar brands and this one lasts well in the shower. I keep it in a caddy away from dripping water and that works well. Always rinsing the suds off after each use and allowing proper drainage to extend the duration of the shampoo bar. I have officially subscribed on Amazon because the small store local to me where I found this brand can’t keep it stocked because it’s that good. Thanks for making a great recipe!

Environment friendly packaging ….the product lathers up wonderfully

This did not clean my hair like it should. You will find rubbing it into your hair difficult as well. It gave my hair a dull look and while I normally don't wash my hair but every 3 days, my hair was begging to be washed again the next day. I give an A for effort. They really tried. And I hate leaving bad reviews. I wana see the best in everything! But this just wasnt the barsoap hair experience I had hoped for. The smell wasn't great either. It had a very light citrus scent. If you're like me, you want your hair to smell like it's been washed and for it to look like it's been washed as well. I didn't get that at all. I'm sorry. Just stick with regular shampoo. Unless u find one that works better for u! Or unless u have a pixi hair style. I could see lathering being easier with short hair. And maybe it didn't help that my hair is to my knees. But regardless it should've still cleaned it well. That just wasn't my experience. I will say...some things work for some, where it might not for others. So try it for urself. You may have a different experience!
