BraceAbility Closed Toe Medical Walking Shoe
Like many of the people here, I ended up having to buy a medical boot to allow my foot to heal from an injury. In my case, I broke my pinkie toe. For a month, I thought I could make due on my own without buying any special equipment. I taped it, I babied it, I hobbled around in my winter boots...all was going well until I refractured it. After THAT happened, my husband convinced me to get a proper medical boot. I didn't want one of those big and clunky things that go half way up your calf, so I went searching on Amazon. This bootie was the perfect compromise. This medical bootie is SO easy to put on and wear. It opens completely up, allowing you to put on the bootie without any additional pressure on your injury. The various velcro straps made the bootie very secure on my foot. The size Medium was perfect for my size 7.5 foot. I also tried the small, but my foot was pushing out the front. I did have to borrow one of my husband's thick winter socks to wear inside the boot so my foot didn't twist or slosh in the boot..it kind of helped fill in the space. I could tighten the straps down but my toe was not having the extra pressure, so this was my work around. It is fairly lightweight but protective of the foot. I've accidentally stubbed my foot a few times while wearing this and it definitely protected my foot from any reinjury.I've spent 2 months wearing this bootie.... I went from hobbling around on my heel in it, to finally being able to put some occasionally pressure down, and now I can "walk" while wearing it. This has been a godsend after the refracture, and I wish I had gotten it when I first broke my toe. I've worn it in the rain and in the cold. I've even accidentally fallen asleep while wearing it, and it was still comfortable. It does best on smooth and flat pavement, but I've taken it out for a spin on grassy hills and my backyard. I've been using a cane to help with stability when out in public or getting in/out of my vehicle. I've finally gotten more mobility back and think I'll be out of the bootie fairly soon. I wanted to wait a fair bit before I wrote my review, to make sure it actually helped my injury, but I've been very satisfied with it since I bought it. I've put it through it's paces the past 2 months and it's still holding up fine.Highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone with a toe injury or foot injury. Skip the big bulky boot and get this one instead.

Fantastic post foot surgery boot ever made!!! This is a must buy!!!
The media could not be loaded. I was given a terrible sandal from Pro Care by my surgeon. Provided for $30, for use after surgery. It was crude, uncomfortable and hard to adjust. This boot if has a soft but supportive upper with several point of adjustment for a great fit.The boot fully protects your foot from light rain, gras, dirt so on. It clean up easily and can be dried with a blow dryer in minutes. The boot is comfortable to walk in and actually doesn’t look bad. This is an Easy 5 star.

Good buy
A good transition shoe from those big heavy bulky CAM walking boots. Not quite ready to wear regular shoes yet after I fractured my 5th metatarsal but this is a good in between type shoe/ brace/ boot. It's not heavy, and comfortable. I'm a 7 1/2 shoe so I got the medium and it fits well. Support and protection is decent, not great but good.Straps are a little long but not a big deal. I'm not sure if I'd wear this if it was raining outside though I'd be weary of it getting wet but overall a good buy and mostly satisfied purchase.

A Lifesaver When You Can't Walk
Let me tell you - when I got hit with a nasty gout flare-up that left me barely able to walk, this shoe was an absolute lifesaver. I'm so glad I found it and want to share my experience in case you're dealing with something similar. The best thing about this shoe is how easy it is to get on when your foot is killing you. You know how awful it is trying to jam a swollen foot into a regular shoe? Well, this one opens up completely so you can literally just place your foot straight down into it. No squeezing, no painful pulling - just gentle contact. Then you can adjust the Velcro straps to get the perfect fit for however swollen your foot happens to be that day. What really impressed me:- The bottom is super sturdy (won't bend at all) but still somehow manages to be soft against your foot- Your whole foot sits inside, so if you accidentally bump into something, you've got decent protection- It's surprisingly lightweight - I can even sleep with it (I just keep that foot outside the covers and wear a sock with it)- While it's obviously a medical shoe, it doesn't look completely awful when worn with a black shoe on the other footA couple things to know:- Don't expect any waterproofing - it's definitely not meant for rain or the shower- On the plus side, though, your foot can actually breathe in it pretty wellI've been wearing this out and about during my recovery, and it's been exactly what I needed. If you're dealing with foot pain, swelling, or post-surgery recovery and need something that won't make you want to cry every time you put it on, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. It's been a game-changer for me.

A great way to keep your busted toes from killing you!
This shoe was a total lifesaver. I broke three toes during Hapkido class and couldn’t fit into my regular shoes because of the swelling. I ordered this so I could still get around while healing, and it delivered. I even had to fly for a work trip and wore it the whole time, including on the plane, with zero issues. Super comfortable, and barely anyone noticed I had it on next to my regular shoe. Highly recommend if you’re dealing with a foot injury.
