A book to read.
My daughter wanted to read this but the local stores here did not have it on hand, but had all the others. Why? I don't know, but she loves the series and really wanted to read this one in particular. It came faster than expected.

Engaging and Full of Suspense!
My daughter couldnât put down Shadows of the Clans! As a huge fan of the Warrior Cats series, she loved diving deeper into the backstories of some of the characters. The three novellas are well-written and packed with action, suspense, and emotion. Itâs a great companion to the main series, adding depth and insight into the warrior world. If youâre a fan of the Warrior Cats universe, this book is a must-read!

A Fine Addition To The Warrior Novellas
Excellent value, all three novellas for the price of about two as a Kindle download. Personally I wait for these to be released in hard copy form as I enjoy the feeling of a physical book in my hands even though I own a Kindle. The stories in this edition were very helpful in showing the backstories of several cats. I started out feeling bad for Mapleshade and thought "well now understand why she became so bitter" but when she also turned to murder I quickly lost that empathy. She belonged in the Dark Forest and was as guilty for the fate of her kits as the cats she blamed. She was not unlike some people I know who never accept responsibility for their own fate.I would have liked more substance in the tale about Goosefeather but now I understand why he seemed to be such a tormented soul. To have his gift and never be able to act upon it would torture me as well. And what can I say about Ravenpaw? He was always one of my favorite cats and early on reading this I knew this was indeed his farewell. A kind, loyal cat this story was a fitting goodbye and, yes very sad. One quibble I have is that there is no resolution as to his dear friend Barley's fate. Maybe they will do a novella on his life. And even though she is gone, I would love to read more about my favorite tortoiseshell kitty Spottedleaf. She makes me think of my own dear, departed tortie girl.I highly recommend this book, good value and nice to have a bit of backstory on some of the clan cats
