Why are ether transaction fees so expensive?

Network GAS Fee is reward to miners who complete the transactions at the blockchain. And this fee changes in realtime basis as miners will complete the transactions with higher GAS Fee. And D'CENT is only displaying fee and not taking any commissions from. Thanks
