So far so good
So far no complaints with this product. It does have a thicker consistency, I would not recommend squeezing this directly on to your scalp from the bottle. I did not have a hard time dispensing the product as some reviewers have mentioned, however, I dispense a little into my palm, rub my hands together and apply it. The scent is not overpowering either....I am very sensitive to fragrances and I can use this product without any headaches or other issues (Carol's Daughter is an example of a product with too much scent). My hair does feel soft and moisturized, the key is to not apply too much....no issues getting it out on wash day either.

Great Product!
I love the product. It has really helped my dry, itchy scalp. My hair is softer and shines more now. I love the smell. I even bought a bottle for my daughter. My only problem is the container. This product should be in a tube. I have to take off the bottle top and squeeze out a portion of the product. Even a jar would be better.

Mostly pros but some cons/ 2b/2c hair
I have thick, latina, 2B/2C hair.SCALP/FRAGRANCE: I've been suffering with terrible dry scalp and have been trying so many different products. While I don't think this has cured my dandruff, it definitely has cut back on the itchy I've been having. While much of the dandruff is gone, some if it is still there after 3 uses. When I smelled the product out of packaging, I didn't like it; however, after warming the product up in my hands, it does smell lovely. Though it smells lovely, the smell doesn't linger in your hair like some of the other delicious cantu products I've used. In short, I don't know if I would purchase this again for my scalp or dandruff. But I would purchase again as a deep conditioner. It did wonders to the ends of my a hair. I normally wear my hair curly but when I straightened it I was blown away. It looked glossy.PETROLEUM: Yes, I was surprised by this ingredient. It has this consistently of petroleum jelly. While I sometimes put thick substances like coconut oil in my hair, the feeling of petroleum jelly is off putting. But again, I realized that once you warm it up in your hands, it breaks down to an oil.SHAMPOO: Just like if you put coconut oil in your hair, you have to wash this out with something strong with a sulfate. Otherwise, your hair might look greasy. But if you use a sulfate shampoo, and scrub with warm water, you should be fine. The 3x I have used this, I have used this as an overnight PREPOO. I rub into my scalp and ends and sleep over night. Then wash out.My scalp has less itch for about 2 days and then I have to wash or reapply a teeny bit to my scalp. Its a good product but the only way I can use this successfully is as a prepoo which I don't always have time for. That being said, I had better luck for my scalping using pure argan oil mixed with peppermint oil. Although that did not give me the shine, luster that this did.SQUEEZE BOTTLE: I had no problems using this even when the product was cold. I DID Have to use both hands to squeeze but I just squeeze it on a plate using both hands. I like doing it this way when the product is cold because you can control how much product you use. And you don't need a whole lot. While it moisture-zed my hair and scalp, my hair didn't feel super soft, but again very shiny.

Relives itchy scalp!!
Smells very good an my scalp has stopped being so itchy. I’ve been using this product for about three weeks now. The only problem with it is that it’s kinda hard to squeeze out of the tube but if you put it in warm water it works like a charm. Too soon to tell if it makes my hair grow any faster but it did stop the itchy ness!

Almost too thick to use
I get flare ups of scalp psoriasis and I'm always looking for scalp oils to use overnight to reduce itching and flaking. This product has a nice smell and does help with the symptoms I have. However, it is such hard work to get out of the bottle that I don't use it often. It also doesn't wash out easily and tends to leave my hair feeling greasy for a day after use.

Dry scalp!? What dry scalp!
I have tried every combination of shampoo and conditioner I could find from salons, amazon, and google to cure patches of dry scalp I would get to no avail. Frustrated more than ever because once again my scalp was driving me mad, I once again began digging through pages of products on amazon to try something new. After the first application, I had oil on my ears and neck, so gross! But I learned that it can be applied sparingly. 24 hours later I was picking at my scalp and thought to myself, the spots are smaller, but not gone. Stopped picking and applied again, but much less. 24 hours later and I'm writing this review. Not a single patch of dry skin on my scalp after two applications. Now the only question is, do I keep applying it daily? Do I wait for my scalp to dry out again and apply? Do I apply every other day, once a week, or on another time period as maintenance? I don't have all the answers, but I know that I love this product.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE THIN HAIR!
I have been searching for something to moisturize my scalp and help with itchiness from the dryness of winter. I have thin, fine, light colored hair.My first mistake was buying this. I applied this liberally (second mistake) last night. Application was difficult unless I warmed up the bottle under running water. Very difficult to squeeze out of the bottle and it would make my hand hurt due to the awkward angle holding it against my head. After applying, I put a towel on my pillow and went to sleep. I woke up and this stuff had migrated halfway down my hair (I have hair past my shoulders).I tried shampoo first.. three rounds of shampoo to get this stuff out. It looked like I had wet, oily hair. Then I used Dawn dish soap not once, not twice, but FIVE TIMES to try to get this out of my hair. Currently waiting for my hair to dry to see if that even did anything. Not only did I negate any benefit this had, but my scalp is now raging because I've had to use dish soap and I've washed it so many times today. I even used cool water for several of the washes. I'm so glad I didn't do this the night before having to go to work or I would have called out. There is no way I'd go out in public after putting this in my hair.1 star because it smells good but I despise everything else about it and wish I never bought it.
