Exactly what I needed
Why did you pick this product vs others?:My black cat had horrible dandriff. I called the vet who suggested fish oil. Well I got what looked good price wise. It has worked wonderful...and still does. No more dandruff and little to no scratching.

Amazing product!
I love Welactin, and what it did for the health of my cats. I first tried this on recommendation from my vet. The directions mention to put a small (measuring spoon included) amount on your cats food daily (see doses for cats size). Despite the “fish” taste, my cats didn’t like it on their food, so I just syringe the dose into their mouths daily. In as little as a month, all of my cats showed amazing results. My senior cat was more active, while my 2-year olds seemed to have a healthy air about them. The Most noticeable result in all my cats is how the Welactin improved their coat. All 3 of my girls have beautiful, soft, amazing fur. My Ragdoll now has a fluffy, pillow-like coat that tangles less than before Welactin, my medium haired black cat now has a shiny, flawless coat that feels like silk, while my alley cat’s once wirery and coarse coat is now kitten soft with a healthy gloss. Now, my girls line up daily to get their dose, before breakfast. The only warning I would give is that the oil stains anything it is left on (I literally peeled the paint off my wall trying to clean a spill left by friend who was watching our cats while on vacation), but have since discovered Lysol Max Foamer Bathroom Cleaner (another 5* review) which takes it off of all hard surfaces I’ve tried with very little effort.Truly, Welactin is AMAZING!

Product fine but Cat didn't like the taste
Product was fine. It does smell like fish understandably but my cat like some others said would not eat it. At all. So if you have a picky cat, then you might end up taking a chance.

Delivery is messy, daily use doesn't have to be
I have used this with my 15 year old cat for almost a year now. I first got it from the vet and paid about 6 more dollars for it than I paid here on Amazon. My cat has a dose every other day to help with a few things and it makes her feel much better. I pour it right in her mouth and she does well with it since it's such a small amount. The directions say to dispense into little serving scoop with the bottle upside down. That part is how you avoid a dripping mess. I do it over the sink and turn it upside down and have very little issue. I also store the bottle and scoop in the box it came in and that helps if I do occasionally have a drip here or there. This works well so don't let the mess talk keep you from ordering it for your cat.

My cat won't eat it
It's probably a very good product, but my cat won't eat anything this is mixed with. It's also difficult to force into his mouth - he starts spitting and i end up covered in fish oil

Vet recommended and it works.
My 20 year old had a wellness checkup about a month ago, and I asked my vet if she recommended anything to help with her dry, flaky fur. She told me to get Welactin. About a month later, I'm amazed at how her coat looks. She is treated for hyperthyroidism and her values were slightly high on her previous visit, so we adjusted her meds and added Epikitin. Today her values were in normal ranges. So was the Welactin the absolute improvement to her coat, or was it a combination of the changes we made? I just know she has shown improvement, and at 20 I find that pretty amazing.

An oily, leaky mess! I wish they had not discotinued the softgels!
The Wellactin bottle is an oily, leaky mess! No matter how carefully I cleaned it off and was careful not to let it drip, the bottle cap and spout leaked and left oily, yellow stains on the plastic container I kept it in. (Stains that did not come off in the dishwasher, but took soaking, scraping, and scrubbing to eventually remove.) After the third bottle, and growing frustration, I stopped using the product.I only bought the bottle version of Wellactin when I could no longer find the softgels, which I (and my cats) loved. The softgels were reasonably priced and convenient. With regular use, my cats' fur felt softer and fluffier, and they had less dry and flaky skin. My cats LOVED the taste, too!But the mess from the bottle was more inconvenient than the benefit to my cats, so I won't use it anymore. If I could get the softgels again, I'd continue to use this product!(I did notice, however, that the dog formula of Wellactin is still available as soft gels, so what gives?)
