One of the best paper I have used for blending polychrome pencils

Brilliant for coloured pencil drawing.
I have bought quite a few of these pads. Nice amount of paper. The paper itself is very good and sturdy. Does take quite a lot of layers of coloured pencil and end results are excellent. Came quickly and well packaged.

Consistantly good quality
Strathmore Bristol Vellum Paper Pad (9"x12") - A Quick Sketcher's Dream! This Strathmore Bristol Vellum pad is an absolute gem for any artist who loves to sketch or work with dry media. The paper’s vellum surface has just the right amount of tooth, providing a satisfying drag for pencils and charcoal without being too rough. It’s fantastic for capturing detail and adding subtle shading.I’ve been using it for quick character studies and my graphite work has never looked better. Colors also pop beautifully if you're using colored pencils. The 9"x12" size is super versatile for portability and manageable projects. Plus, the paper holds up surprisingly well to light erasing, a huge plus. Definitely a go-to for clean, crisp lines and smooth blending. Highly recommended!

Nice drawing paper but...
This is a very nice smooth drawing paper (perfect for graphite work). The bad news is that it is far, far too expensive for a drawing paper (DalerRowney 230gsm A2 Heavyweight pad has an Identical smooth drawing surface but is a lot, lot cheaper!). Strathmore Bristol Velum pad is a little larger than the DalerRowney A2 pad (Strathmore paper pad is made in the USA so is not bound by the EU 'A' type paper sizes, whereas the DalerRowney pad is made in the UK and is therefore manufactured in the European 'A' type measurement standards). DalerRowney and Strathmore are both excellent drawing papers (the price difference is the real fly in the ointment). My Strathmore paper pad arrived properly packed and protected through the mail so there was no surface damage or crumpled corners on the pad.

Good paper for graphite pencils
I absolutely love this paper! I actually bought the Strathmore Bristol smooth paper first because a lot of people recommended it, however I definitely prefer the Vellum paper. I use graphite pencils and I found the smooth paper was too smooth and you could see pencil lines in the drawing. I personally think the vellum paper looks much better with graphite pencils and it’s so much easier to blend with. The smooth paper was very hard to blend and made my drawings look a bit muddy. However, I do think the smooth paper would be good if you use coloured pencils because it would be easy to blend with solvent.

Really good paper.
Very smooth, holds colour well and takes layers brilliantly. I would buy again.

Bristol Strathmore vellum artist paper
Lovely paper for coloured pencil drawing, very smooth, but you can build lots of layers and erase loads of times, without tearing or going through the paper. It may seem strange but it does make a big difference to your driving. If you use the right paper. This is great and I can certainly recommend.
