Perfect for bleached hair
I bought the coloring conditioner in the shade Vibrant Pink. I had bleached my hair between the levels 8-10. My virgin hair was originally a level 1 (dark brown, almost black). So while the color obviously didn't show on my virgin roots, it deposited color very well on my bleached hair.My hair length reaches the middle of my back. I had to use an entire tub. I think for a more even application, I would have needed 1 tub plus at least 1/4 of a second tub. Be mindful of applying product on the back of your head. I neglected that area so while the color did show up, it was peachier and less pink than the front strands of hair that I could easily see and reach. The gloves provided in the box absolutely suck - they're thin and come apart easily and have holes in the sides which defeat the purpose of protecting your hands and render them useless. Luckily I have a stash of disposable latex gloves. You will absolutely need them to protect your hands from getting stained. Immediately wipe surfaces if product splashes onto it. Small amounts of product lightly stained my white bathtub pink. Not the end of the world but something to be mindful of.Application is fairly easy. The consistency of the conditioner is like a goopy cream. It doesn't drip so it's easy to apply, but because it's thick it's hard to spread. This is why you have to use a lot of product to cover a lot of surface area.Any coloring product will smell unpleasant. This conditioner has a mint fragrance in it that attempts to cover up the unpleasant chemical smell. It makes it more bearable. Some people have stated that the smell is like toothpaste. I think it's like a combination of chemicals and toothpaste. If you have sensitive skin like me, do a patch test on an inconspicuous area like behind your ear. Or apply a thin layer of Vaseline on the skin touching your hairline, including your temples, behind the ears, and your neck. For more protection, apply Saran Wrap on top of the Vaseline. I'm pretty lazy though and applied it directly to my hair and scalp, being mindful of not letting the product touch too much of my skin. My application wasn't perfect so small areas of my skin had product on it. Those areas, plus my scalp, became slightly itchy and red. The itchiness disappeared a few hours after washing my hair out.I applied the product and loosely clipped it up with a large hair claw, then sat in a bath for about 40 minutes while watching videos to pass the time. The instructions say to leave it in for much less time. I don't think 5-15 minutes will make a significant difference and will likely result in wasted product. I highly recommend leaving it on for at least 30 minutes, max 45-60 minutes.Rinsing out the product with water was easy. Took maybe a good minute to get it out. Although your scalp and hair strands will feel slightly heavy and sticky due to the deposited color afterwards, I highly discourage people from washing their hair with shampoo and following up with a separate conditioner. Shampoo and conditioners can make the color bleed out more. Everytime you wash with even just water, color will bleed. After first time application, just rinse with cool water, dry, and style, then use dry shampoo to avoid washing your hair often. This will prolong the life of the color. When the hair is wet, the color looked like a deep pink/light red. When fully dry, the color is a beautiful and soft pink, with a shade somewhere in between cotton candy and pastel pink. It's not actually too vibrant, despite its name. This was exactly the color I was going for though. After reading reviews on the pastel pink conditioner, which were very abysmal, I'm glad I went with vibrant pink instead. With 1-2 washes, the color gradually fades into a beautiful and subtle rose gold. With 3-4 washes, the color is almost gone. With subsequent washes, the color is entirely gone. If you wash hair every two days while relying on dry shampoo in between washes, you can expect the color to last for about a week.If you want to maintain the pink, you'll have to wash hair even less and/or reapply product every few washes. At $32 a tub for about a week's worth of color, it's pricey and not very financially sustainable. Knowing this, I bought the color just to have one week's worth of a final hurrah before I'd permanently dye my hair back to black. I had fun while it lasted and I have no regrets!I have not tried other colors in this product line so I can't speak on their quality. This product did its job and I was happy with the results. I'd recommend this to anyone with hair bleached to levels 8 or above looking for a week's worth of a whimsical and feminine color.

Blue Covered my Grays!
I had to stop dying my greys which are mostly around my face and about 30% of my hair. But after 5 months I couldn't take the orange-ish line of demarcation that was developing. After MUCH research I gave this a try. It works and I love it, but here are some important things to know.1) My natural hair is dark brown. I had been coloring it a medium brown. I left this on for 2 hours (after a 1 hr. strand test didn'tcover the grey at the top. I know they say only 15 mins, but I don't care and since it's a conditioner it really can't hurt your hair if you are willing to devote the time.) It came out really blue on my greys, but even though I went light on the application on the ends of my hair, it made the rest of my hair a very dark brown (close to black). But, it banished the orange tones! This may be due to the fact that while I hadn't bleached my hair, most of it was previously processed. So, naturally dark brown-haired folks will likely see no blue with this Extreme Blue color. Smells great and left my hair feeling softer and less frizzy than I have seen since I started to grey a decade ago! I included a before and after pic from my first use.2) This is MESSY, thick stuff! I used the full 2oz trial size my first time out and even though I am a practiced home colorist I still had a few places where it didn't seem to take. Subsequent applications with slightly less product but a more carefully combed-through approach proved better. It is a learning curve. Use petroleum jelly on all your neighboring skin. Cover your bathroom surfaces. Use dark towels. And keep that colox-based bathroom spray near by to address staining ASAP. (If you wait more than 30 minutesit will not come out easily, if at all). I keep it in great shower now to deal with using the conditioner which is equally staining. I have crazy hot flashes and night sweats, but I haven't had an issue with this getting on my sheets.3) It washes out quicker than you want! And if your shampoo has any sulfates in it, you might as well pour your money down the drain. The corresponding conditioner really helps the fading! Don't skimp and not order it. But it, too, is a thick mess and makes me consider using gloves in the shower. I now use the overtone conditioner around my face where I have the most greys and regular conditioner on the bottom half of my hair and let both sit for 5 mins while I do other shower business. I got a shower cap to avoid washing my hair every time I shower (and to use when applying the coloring).

be careful if you have light hair
okay so first off, i naturally have strawberry blonde hair, it’s very light. when i saw this i was like “huh that seems interesting i’ll try it” so i decided to buy it. first off, it smells great, it may be a little too much of a scent for some but i think the scent is amazing. this stuff also stains very very easily. i accidentally got it on my nails and it literally dyed my natural nails. i have very thick hair even though it’s pretty short and when i first put it in and washed it out it came out streaky and BRIGHT ORANGE. i decided to redo it to really saturate my hair and i ended up using 3/4 of the container. again, it came out bright orange. i decided to dye my eyebrows because i thought “might as well”. my eyebrow hair is very hard to dye but this stuff dyed it best out of everything i have used, because i have naturally bleach blonde “see through” eyebrows. if you have light hair this will definitely not turn out “natural looking” so just be careful. i may recommend leaving it in for like 5 minutes instead of 10-15 (what it says in the instructions). my hair felt sooooo nice after using it however and looks very shiny. i don’t know how long this stays but i may be back to tell you. i only wash my hair once a week so it’ll probably stay in for awhile. i’m not mad about the orange however because i dyed my hair bright orange for about 6 months when i had a bald head. other than turning my hair bright orange, i’d highly recommend because of how healthy my hair feels :)

Worked great and lasts pretty long - would recommend!
I have dark brown/almost black Asian hair that’s natural on top and had been ombre bleached and dyed purple at the bottom. This conditioner worked wonders after my original purple had washed out, and the colour lasted way longer (3+ weeks? and this is without using Overtone’s recommended daily conditioner) than my original dye job did. The immediate colour is quite a vibrant dark purple on my bleached hair, but after about 10 washes starts to fade into a nice lighter purple shade mixed with some brown that starts to show through. On my natural dark hair, the purple appears as a subtle tinge that’s mainly visible under direct light/sunlight. I have mid-length, thin hair so the entire jar lasted me about 4 applications over the course of mid-October to start of Jan. Would recommend to those with lightened/lighter hair as a great way to try out fun colours! Those with totally dark hair, it’ll be a subtle look - plenty of video reviews on youtube will give you an idea of what to expect!
