These have been great in the garage.
I have a cracked oil filter housing on my car. It started as a small drip, but continued to get worse. These were great for tucking in the engine bay while the car was parked waiting to be repaired. I stuffed them in all the nooks and crannies where the oil puddled and when I came back the next day I was able to just pull them out and dispose of them. They have also worked great as I disassembled the top end of the engine to get the cracked housing removed. I put them under coolant and fuel hoses as I removed them to catch the residual fluids that remained after draining. I put them down on the floor and on the bench top so I could put parts down and not make a mess. The pictures are after the mess, I wasn't thinking about photos while I was working. I snapped them as I shut down for the night.I'm a DIY'r working on my own car in the garage and I would highly recommend them.

For water seepage or dripping these are excellent.
I used them for lost shingles during a rainstorm. The pads are small like the size of printer paper but you get a lot of them. Unlike a snake or a dam which is one long piece, you can fit these almost anywhere. Fold and stuff them, and switch them out as they soak and you monitor the situation. Decent at holding water ( when you pick it up put it in a bucket) they dry quickly. I don't get the '12 gallon' capacity (?) maybe the whole box but my guess is each one holds 8 to 10 oz. The used ones absorb just as well if not better than the new ones. If you have a torrential flood these might not be your friend but for dripping attics and seepage, these do the job and cost much less than pig products.

Good value and decent performance
If you’ve used the PIG brand product you know they work great but are also very pricey. So when I was looking for something similar for my home garage use, I decided to take a chance and buy these since they were so much cheaper. I can report that they work well, very well if you focus solely on their price point. They are small but you get a lot of them for the money, and the box does double as a dispenser. In short I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these again for use in my garage to clean up small drips and spills. They are NOT a direct replacement for the brand name product but at this price I knew that before buying. So far I’ve used them to pick up brake fluid, antifreeze, and engine and gear oils. They worked well for each.

expensive yet efficient
I used this for ground water flooding inside our crawl space. The water was a bit overwhelming, but they managed to lessen the mess and were re-usable after they dried out. This was for fresh water only. I wouldn't recommend a second time for sewage or gray water use. Our "new normal" now here in NJ with flooding, probably make great housewarming gift-a pack of these things with a big red bow on top.

absorb well
They absorb spills well, I just wish they were bigger. I think most guys in shops can agree that they should be bigger for the price.
