Q: does the oil come with instructions on where to oil

No Sharon - this is a special oil (synthetic ) my Grandfather's clock called for this type oilJust a drop here or there on the pivits or shafts.

Q: Can this be used on cuckoo clocks, mantle clocks and any type clocks that gets wound by a key?

Yes it’s a great light weight oil. Gears in most clocks are brass, ideal for them. Doesn’t appear to get gummy. I only used for 2 years, so not sure how long it holds up.

Q: Is this oil good at preventing rust? Plan to use on micrometer and dial indicator shafts to help prevent rust.

It seems to be kinda oil-ish, so as long as you keep a thin film on your tools it should help, just like any light oil, I suppose. Reapply as needed.

Q: Picture on website shows product as yellow; however, when mine arrived, it was blue/gray. Did I get the right product to oil my grandfather clock?

Mine is blue gray also. I believe it is the correct product for your grandfather clock. I used mine on a Sligh in which the chimes were not working, and it fixed it. This was the first time this clock was lubricated in more then 50 years. It is a good product. The photographer needs to learn how to use Photoshop to correct for color,
