I just turn it on and keep the temp setting where it is. I haven't had it above 25% and it keeps me very warm.

It will turn back on once the set temperature has been reached. I've had my heater for a week now and it works great.

You can leave the thermostat set where you want it, and the "off-on-Fan speed" is all you have to adjust each time you use it. I use mine in a tiny greenhouse during the winter and it kept about a dozen plants from freezing this past winter. I'm sure it would work in a home if you weren't trying to heat a large space.

I do not know the temperature, but it does have LO / Hi and MIN / MAX settings for it to get warmer.
