It does not include spider You must buy separately in this case. Our spider,that we purchased separately , is about 5 ft wide

I would say it's about 10 inches. It's up at the boat right now but that's about the size

What is the total spread diameter of the arms?

The small one is about 2 ft. fits great on a Jet Ski's seat.

Can it be used on roof of a vehicle?

Yes, you can place on roof of vehicle. You may want to put a soft towel under it to protect your paint.
