Brilliant (can this really be true) !!! BUT ...
Update 20-03-2017I had a question regarding use of this router. Both TELTONIKA and Euro DK have refused to answer what is a simple question. Teltonika engaged me in a lengthy process of proving purchase and bouncing me around different people and then point blank refused to offer any help whatsoever. So, reluctantly, I have to report that Teltonika offer no after sales support whatsoever and I would, therefore, NOT recommend this product unless you have an existing relationship with Teltonika and most certainly not if you are a private buyer. Such a shame as the router is very very good. Next time I will buy a router from a company that has some concept of after sales support. To reiterate, my question would have taken a technical support guy less than one minute to answer. Such a shame!Five Star rating now reduced to Three.--End Update--All the usual 5 Star stuff applies. As described, well built, good service and works very well. This 4G router has solved several problems in one go and I am absolutely delighted with it and Teltonika. The problem started with British Telecom (scoundrels) trying to provide ADSL to a remote rural location. While they provided about half a meg (and took barrows of money) it was never reliable and their customer service just stinks. Further the BT Home hub was never really able to cope with a complex Internal network (LAN) and would issue the same IP address to multiple clients despite DHCP settings/manual setup etc - the hub would corrupt every time it rained (in Scotland this happens a lot). After 7 years of trying to get some service (or refund) I gave up and started to consider Satellite despite the cost and high latency. Then 4G arrived. I tested 4G using a cheap package from EE, worked great most of the time but their router only allows ten devices on WiFi and has no option to have static IP on the LAN ro other such advanced configurations. The RUT 955 is, however, very configurable! So I researched and decided to spend what seemed like a lot of money on this professional grade router. In summary, my research led me to Teltonika as they have a good reputation amongst professionals both for customer service and quality of goods. It comes with external antenna for the LTE (4G phone signal) and Wifi so it gets a great mobile signal (rural locus where handsets struggle) and spreads the Wifi further than I expected (it is covering a 2 acre plot with ease and I have not tried to optimise antenna locations yet). This is a solid router and professional grade. The case seems to be Die Cast Aluminium and is well made. I believe these routers are often used to connect Infrastructure to the net (Motorway signs, industrial uses etc) and might seem expensive for a home router. The router also has RS232, RS485 and Digital IO - so you can connect to legacy devices and even use the RUT955 to control devices. The box contains four magnetic mount antenna (standard SMA connectors) for the LTE and Wifi (2 each) and one for GPS. A power supply is included with uk plug. A DIL rail mount is also supplied. The manual is available from Teltonika.it and covers 177 pages - it is quite detailed and shows just how versatile this kit is. An Ethernet cable and quick start guide are included. The router will accept two sim cards (for mobile connectivity) and can be configured via the web based manager to switch Sims based on availability of signal, data limits and lots more. I am only using one sim at the moment. The router can also be configured to only use the mobile data as a backup... so if you have good landline service but need redundancy then this machine will do that. WAN (internet) can be sourced from Wifi, Ethernet or 4G.Cost of 4G Home BB has been prohibitive but is now becoming reasonable. EE, at the time of writing, are offering 64GB per Month for £30.05 if you order their little wifi router. The 'sim only' plan is more expensive and has less data allowance. So I have thrown away the EE router and put it's sim into the Teltonika - works like a charm. Additional data is available at £15/10GB. The second Sim slot means I can add more data with another provider should that become needed or when a good offer comes along or, indeed, if I need redundancy. This now allows me to ditch BT landline and what they laughingly call broadband saving me £70 / month or thereabouts (Just cancelled BT and it felt Great, really great!).So here is the real world summary. This morning I was paying massive amounts of money for unreliable internet from a BT, the crappiest company in the world. Speedtest on BT was less than 500Kbps, most of the packets dropped and internet available, on average, 40% of the time. Real world - could not even listen to Radio 4 Online, Email a pain, youtube...yeah right!RUT 955 arrived at 1230hours (thanks postie, we love you). Unboxed, bits connected by 1240. Wizzed through the 'Wizard Setup' in seconds. Configured the LAN machines and by 1300z.... did a quick speedtest. 49.9Mbps (forty nine MEGA baud, 100 times speed increase). It's now 1648, Radio 4 has not dropped out once and I am one very well connected and happy bunny who will now be watching YouTube in HD and will now use my Prime Membership to watch the odd film! The web based set up was absolutely painless and I quickly managed to set up static IP's on my LAN - all VERY easy. However, the RUT 955 is VERY configurable and will meet many requirements so don't be put off by the huge manual or sales pitches that aim at professionals. Dead easy for home use.Teltonika, very well done! If, like me, you have struggled to get any Internet or are just sick of poor service then I really recommend that you investigate a 4G service. If you want 4G and the ability to configure your internal network then go for the Teltonika RUT 955!! It is actually cheaper than BT if you shop around, performs a tad better (100 tads in my case) and the best bit... you can fire BT.ONE MONTH LATERThe RUT-955 continues to work extremely well. I have never experienced such stable networking and I just want to cuddle this little gem of a device every time I see it - no other interaction is needed because it just works without any fuss! EE data service in my area has been flawless, stable and fast. The router has now been configured to do some of the advanced stuff, it is all so easy and 'just works'. Despite my obvious enthusiasm for this gadget, this is a impartial and independent review - credit where it is due. Never mind 5 stars, this is truly a six star device

Reliable router
Set this up in a boat to act as router from either a Wi-Fi marina feed or via mobile, i.e. 3g or 4g signal. This has worked flawlessly since I installed it. The internet has been steady on both inputs and it is relatively easy to switch between the two. FYI, I'm using a Ubiquiti bullet to pick up Wi-Fi and send the signal to the wan input of the teltonika. My only issue and hence the 4 stars, I upgraded the router firmware shortly after setting it up and then experienced periodic drop outs on Wi-Fi connections to third party devices, i.e. iPad etc. after a lot of investigation it turns out to be the firmware and after downgrading has worked with no issues. I run it 24/7 to access security cameras and fire detectors on board. There is a comment about missing parts below, the unit doesn't come with a GPS aerial and you dont need one.

'Rural Broadband' using the mobile phone 3G/4G network
Desperation drove me. I used this router to provide a 'rural broadband' lifeline, using the mobile phone 3G/4G network, it works.Having been totally abandoned by BT & Openreach who seem unable to provide anything better than 1.1Mbps broadband to our area, the pigeons being generally faster, far more calming, though unfortunately have about the same ability as BT to converse sensibly or speed up.With this device, antennas hanging out of the window to claw at a very weak signal, I have a 20Mbps connection. Just be careful with the data contract, exceeding your data allowance is easily done and can be expensive. (Though you can set data limits in the configuration.)Highly recommended.

Amazing little box
We live in a rural location and years ago gave up battling with BT to get a good broadband connection - it used to drop out with the slightest rain or windy conditions for days at a time, and the best speed we ever got was about 2Mb/sec but it was usually a lot slower than that. We accepted that it was probably about as good as we would ever get.I read about using a 4G connection for home internet (mostly from other rural ex BT customers), thought about it for a while and decided to give it a try.Bought this box together with an unlimited data SIM card, and a decent YAGI 4G antenna. Am I pleased that I did!!On plugging in the SIM card and powering up the box on just the supplied mini aerials indoors immediately I had 2M/sec, and we live in an area that according to the network operator doesn't even have an outdoor signal. I now have the proper antenna working attached to the side of the house, and after aligning it for the best signal I was absolutely delighted to see that I have a 40-50Mb/sec service. And.... no dropping out, it just keeps working! The router itself is tiny, but still has 3 LAN sockets, 4 if you use the menu option of using the WAN socket as another LAN socket. The wireless is as good as on our old ASUS router. Plenty of options, more than I will ever need to use, very easy to set up.Overall I am just astounded at how well this box works.

A (slow) spider’s web and I’m caught in the middle
This item has just arrived so my review is based upon initial findings and I’ll do as I go along.Out of the box, the router is small. It fits into the palm of my small hand. There are 5 antennas: 2 x mobile, 2 x WiFi and 1 x GPSThis initially made me think “good call” but then they all started to tangle up and untangling them became frustrating. The cables are long and very easily tangled. The 4 stick antennas are supposed to stand up but the weight of the cables make them fall over. They are, however, magnetic and so this might not be an issue if close to metal surfaces....Logging into the router is simple and basic configuration fast.To test the router I used my phone’s SIM card ......Using my phone, in exactly same spot as router, I got 35mb down and 7 up. Using router, I got 7mb down and 2 up.So, if this doesn’t improve, it’s going back.... so, I’ll upgrade firmware, play with positioning and if no better....return it.

Awesome product solved all my connection issues with my distance from a cell tower
After Tethering through my mobile and working from home for weeks in this Covid19 lock downThis router is the answer to not have home broadband (not available in my area for fast speed the best they could offer was 6 mbps)This Teltonika RUT955 LTE 4G Router gave me a +20 to 22 DBM increase to the signal from my cell tower which is around a mile away, this is due to the aerials that it comes with, this made all the difference between having applications and VPN dropouts and having a stable and fast 4G LTE connection, Ok I have only used it for one day so far but could not be more impressedIt has allowed to have multiply Ethernet connection to the router so not relying on WiFi but it has WiFi if you want to use it.If like me you are not IT then Teltonika offer a remote management service as an add onAlso the router has a firewall with SMS services builtin so you never mist that text messageIt comes with two 4 inch anteners that help boot the signal and is all I need to improve my connectionI did do a spead test and his router has increased from 5 mbps to 12 mbps as apposed to tethering through a mobile. This router for me was worth every penny and I would recommend it to everyone who uses 4G servicesI am hoping that in the future this will do 5G or Teltonika bring out firmware for 5G or have a future a product for 5G

Works flawlessly...
I fitted this to my narrowboat along with an LTE external aerial. I positioned one internal aerial in the main living area and one in the bedroom. Using SIMS from separate networks, no matter where I moor or connect inside or out I never have a problem. The perfect solution, don't waste time and money on mobile data boxes like I did.

Riuscivo così ha raggiungere già velocità di c.ca 15 Mb/s in UP e Down.

Hier sollte Teltonika wirklich was machen...
