Are you really selling one cartridge for $70?

$70 is kind of high. Last one I bought was $51 (which is terrible. They do not last very long) If you are considering a printer, weight the costs. I got mad at HP after having bought a defective machine. Should have stayed with HP. Epson does have a few good features like 2-sided printing. Initial costs were about the same.

what are best print settings to use to conserve on ink?

You can use light or draft settings. Very little loss of quality. Hard to measure if it saves ink. It should.

How many pages does the XL cartridge print versus the normal cartridge?
