are these peanut free ?

I forgot to check before I used them, so would not let my granddaughter, who is allergic to peanuts, eat any of the bread I made.

Can these be melted for use in a chocolate fountain?

Have no idea. I use them in cookie baking, They are a little more coarse then chocolate chips.
