Those product became unusable within 1 day. After less than a day I kept hearing this annoying high pitched beeping sounds every 15 seconds. Faint but I could hear it clearly, even over the TV or radio being on. "What the heck is that dang annoying sound?!" I had to turn off all other electronics and listen carefully and finally I found where this hella annoying sound was. It was coming from this machine! What the heck? I thought these were supposed to be inaudible? Nope! So i unplugged it for a while ahead plugged it back in and eventually same thing happened. I threw that one away and plugged in the SECOND unit that came with this pack. In less than a day THAT ONE started doing the same thing. So I had to toss them both. Total waste of money, IMO

worth a try

I was a bit worried about how effective these would be after reading the reviews and also confused as to why this model looks different and is more expensive than the other model by this brand, but they're so worth it! We have a very well insulated house without the cracks and gaps that we've had when we lived in apartments. Still, during our first spring in this house, black ants and the garden ants made their way inside. The smaller ants were such an issue in the kitchen, despite daily cleaning. I covered the house in diatomaceous earth last year, but it makes such a mess and isn't healthy to breathe. When the snow melted, in just a couple of days, we had numerous garden ants in the house and I was dreading having to use diatomaceous earth again. I found this product and am absolutely amazed at how well they work! It took 24-48 hours to see the results, and I almost purchased more since I thought maybe we needed one per room, but since keeping them plugged in, we've had literally one ant in the house. I have plugged one in the downstairs bathroom and one near the front door, and they're effective in protecting three floors, 3 bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms from ants.FYI, For people wanting to use these against spiders, they are ineffective against arachnids, which works for us, since we love spiders, nature's pest controllers. We've also never had any other type of bug, aside from the odd potato bug that gets inside, so I can't speak to how well it works against other creepy crawlers.I was also worried that these would negatively affect our outdoor wildlife (including a groundhog mama, squirrels, chipmunks, possums, foxes, and skunks) and I was going to stop using them if I noticed any change in our backyard visitors, but it has not bothered them.

Living in an older home comes with the occasional mouse problem, but this device cleared them out in just a few days. No need for traps!
