Great for Paint Prep!
These Dura-Gold sanding discs worked great for prepping surfaces before painting. I used them with my PioneerWorks Electric Random Orbital Sander and they fit perfectly, secure and snug with no slipping. The hook & loop backing makes it easy to switch between grits, and the 6-hole pattern really helps with dust control. I appreciated the range from 80 to 400 grit, it gave me everything I needed from rough sanding to a smooth finish. Great value and quality for any DIY, woodworking, or automotive project!

They work great, 40 grit removes material fast and easy.
Excellent product, great quality.

Time will really tell!
Just recently received and started using these sanding discs. So far they have worked very well and the hook and loop feature really works well with my new Dewalt random orbital palm sander. So easy to switch back and forth from different grade papers. Appear to hold up well, last reasonably. And very affordable! So only reservation is longevity and durability; too early to really tell. But so far very pleased; getting the job done!

Got Grit?
Faced with a porch-full of fir posts with a failed oil finish, I was making no progress with a 5" random orbital sander with heavy grit paper. I was about to fall back on my trusty old belt sander, but do not use that enough to guarantee I would not leave gouges. That sander would also leave a LOT of work in making joints match the easy-to-sand middle portions. I decided to have one last try, using a 6" sander. I got the sander and looked for coarse paper. Not under 60 grit was available locally. Then I found this online. As long as I kept changing sheets, it cut the old finish neatly in FAR less time than I had been taking with the 5" sander. Important to note: the paper was dull enough to NOT cut the finish FAR before my fingers said it had lost it's tooth! On wood without that deep, nasty finish, this paper could cut effectively until it DID feel like it was dull. This is a GREAT alternative to taking a belt sander to a porch post! It is especially effective used with the 1/4" setting on a Ridgid 6" sander with a small Ridgid vacuum pulling dust through a small Dust Deputy. I'll likely try other Dura-Gold products in the future.

Works Perfectly
I had to replace a baggage door on my motorhome (due to a tree getting too close). I bought an aluminum panel, side and bottom frames and put it all together. Then came the painting. I used these sandpaper discs on a pneumatic sander to rough up the aluminum, sprayed a self-etching primer on the surface, used a 400-grit disc to smooth the primer then sprayed the finish. Came out awesome. Very good quality and variety of discs with this order. Recommended!

Not good for paint removal
I bought the 40 grit version to use for paint removal and found them to be inadequate. Their finer grits may be OK for light sanding but the 40 grit falls apart quickly with the media chipping off the backing and the backing tearing and fraying easily. Diablo disks outlast these by 3 to 1 in my use. YMVY Any bending of the disk will cause the grit to flake off exposing the backing paper. Any attempt to use a rubber sandpaper cleaner seems to make the disks fall apart faster. Others have reported good experiences with the finer grits so those are probably OK. If you are removing paint, save yourself the time and aggravation and buy Diablo or similar disks instead.

Works Great For Me
There are a LOT of sandpaper brands these days, many of which aren't really that great. I've had good luck with Dura-Gold though. It's robust, has a long life, and doesn't clog nearly as much as some others. I've got several grits in disc and roll form (for long-board sanding), and love 'em all.
