DVI-I Dual-Link 24+5 Male to HDMI Female Adapter

I bought this for a computer my son and I built for one of his friends. He has an HDMI only monitor and the older graphics card we had around the house did not have HDMI output. However, it did have a DVI-I port. WARNING! Know what port you have. Do not assume as others did that all DVI ports are the same. THEY ARE NOT! You can google and find the difference between this DVI-I port, a DVI-A port, and a DVI-D port. The last two are analog and digital specific. You cannot just connect a DVI-A port to HDMI and hope it will work. Well, you can but it won't This adapter is specifically for a DVI-I port which does both analog and digital. It converts the digital into HDMI and works perfectly. Don't do what I did and wonder why the sound does not come out of your TV. DVI-I is video only. You will have to get the sound there some other way.

My old LCD monitor died and the new one had different hookups so I found myself needing an HDMI port on the PC. I had a workaround so I was in no hurry, and ordered the product here. I knew that with budget shipping from Hong Kong that it would take a while to get here and wasn't concerned. When it did arrive I connected it and it worked immediately with no fuss. What more can I ask of an adapter? Nice large screws and a quality feel that belied it's low price makes me happy.

i ordered this adapter from bargaincell; it was dvi-d dual link instead of a dvi-i dual iink to f hdmi adapter. took about 4 minutes on the phone for the entire call to get a full refund in 72 hrs. and the 1st guy i talked to(the only one) said i could just keep the one the eent me, and that they didn't have the advertised prodct in stock. only problem i've ever had with ordering on amazon or from bargaincell before{for about 4 yrs. now}.

The adaptor I received is not what was pictured at the Amazon site. The head of the securing bolts were not made of metal as shown but made of black rubber. For some reason the adaptor sat high when plugged into the DVI port on my PC leaving the bolts short of the female slots. In order to get the bolts to reach the screw in slots I had to used a sharp knife to trim off about 1/4" off the rubber heads. I suppose I should consider it lucky that the head was not made of metal as advertised. This is the reason I could only give it a mediocre 3 star rating. Otherwise, it does work

Awesome! Worked with my projecter and now we can watch all the big games on a huge "screen" also make sure that if you want audio, both your source like in my case a receiver and your input in this case my projecter, can output audio, aka a speaker, because my projecter obviously didn't have audio I have to buy another cable for digital audio, I guess make sure video and audio can be separated.

Why would they ever make one end dvi-i when the other is hdmi. I was not paying attention when I ordered it since I assumed that they would never mix digital and analog ports on a passive device. I had to remove 4 pins then the wide pin was too wide so I had to use wire cutters to make it the right size. it was only slightly less of a headache over just returning it and ordering a different one.

I had to buy this to connect my monitor to my computer video card. It works great. Just be careful to get the right DVI connector. I originally purchased a DVI-D connector which does not work for this connection. The prongs are less on the D than the I. I bought a DVI-A connector which worked for this connection, but did not have all the prongs and I believe I get a better picture with this DVI-I connector than that one. Check your connector links before buying the connecting cable and other connectors. Check the prongs (male) and holes (female) line up and match up.

Works Great for my Computer.!

Does good job in converting DVI input to HDMI output. Picture quality was good for normal daily usage( Windows, movies, minor games). Might not work well for advanced games etc. Also, it wasnt able to transfer the sound output to the monitor ( I used a smart TV as monitor).
