This was a great product. I used this to wash my base layers. As a person who jog to the office every day my base layers get quite nasty quickly. However, after washing with the base wash it smells nice and feels fresh. I highly recommend this product

Used this for years on my base layer ski and sports wear , does a great job of keeping them fresh and still keeps them working well on wicking and doing there job, i use more then what they suggest so doesn’t last long but don’t use it that often

THIS PRODUCT CERTAINLY DOES WHAT IT SAYS "ON THE TIN" IT BRINGS UP YOUR BASE LAYERS LIKE NEW AND REMOVES ANY ODOURS TOO AND LEAVES YOUR ITEMS NICE AND FRESH

Bought this for washing smelly compression tops and gym shorts. You would get through it pretty fast using the recommended amount, but I found that putting about a third of that in with my usual cheapo laundry liquid works just as well. Good stuff.

Does what normal washing tabs don't do and that is clear the old exercise pong out of your high tech fabrics. Also worth trying Merino wool base layers but they are too hot for the gym Nikwax - Tech Wash x 1 Lt PS don't use it for every wash and washing gym kit quickly makes a difference to pong control

This product is a Godsend! I run several days a week and my base layer pants and tops always have a funk in certain areas that just wouldn’t go away. I would pre-treat and scrub the problem areas before normal washes but the stench was still there just masked with the scent of detergent. I ran across this product on a YouTube channel for trail running and figured I would given it a try. I read the good and bad reviews and decided to take a chance. It WORKED! I followed the instructions and washed my clothes in WARM water (even if the tag said cold) and they came out like new! No more funky scents! Completely gone! As for the product scent itself, it smells like a cleaning product with a small hint of lemon IMO. It’s completely tolerable and it beats the funk ANY day. If you want to continue to wear your gear, this is a great investment. I was considering throwing some of my base layers away, but now they are saved!

Nikwax base wash is an excellent laundry cleaning product for so-called tech wear garments which contain polyester, nylon and other man-made fabrics. It is also great for cotton and cotton blends. It is designed to preserve these fabrics. Only a cap full (the inner cap) which is about a tablespoon and a half is needed to properly administer soap in a standard clothes washer. As a result, it is very economical, even though the initial price is intimidating. Clothes washed in Nikwax will have a very faint, pleasant odor which is from the deodorizing and anti-bacterial properties of the product. Setting the washing machine on 'gentle wash' is adequate, as well as on medium spin or less (low spin recommended). Clothes should be hung to dry. We have been using this product for years and are very satisfied. Thank you to Amazon for carrying the larger format which is very economical.

Cycling clothes are expensive, and their fabrics are meant to manage sweat and body temperatures. Normal detergents include all kinds of extras to make them smell nicer, at the cost of degrading the functional aspects of your cycling clothes. I use Nikwax Basewash for all my cycling clothes to allow them to perform properly against my skin, but while still cleaning them properly.
