Good kit for the sun shades we are using.

Nice functional hardware works well, quality material thickness, made easy to install, no sagging adjustable bolts with nice color finish and keeps the shade cool.

I am calling this the great turnbuckle debacle…. I compared three different types / brands of sail shade mounting kits(This was set A). Not on purpose really, it was more due to shipping dates not being correct so I ended up with three sets instead of just one . Here is what I found out. We will label the sets A, B and C. Set A was 316 stainless steel, set B was 304 stainless steel and set C was unmarked so they can’t say it’s 316, 304 or who knows? Why does this make a difference? The simple answer is 304 contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel while 316 contains 16% chromium, 10% nickel AND 2% molybdenum. The molybdenum is added to help resist corrosion to chlorides (like sea water and de-icing salts).So 316 stainless steel is more expensive and more corrosion resistant. Let's talk sizing now... Set A claims it adjusts from 5 to 8 inches. That of course is impossible because there's only 2 inches of space inside the turnbuckle so it can only go from 5in to 7in. Set B shows a picture making the claim that their turnbuckles expand from 7 cm to 11 cm however that is only 2.75 inches to 4.33 inches tip to tip respectively, luckily their set is actually 5in to 7inches. Set C claims to go from 7.559 to 11.417 inches...that could be true if it was an M8 size turnbuckle (which they show pictured).. but it is not, it is a M5 size they ship instead ,so once again only 5 to 7 inches. Guess what? ALL these sets are M5 double hook turnbuckles. Virtually identical in all but the materials composition. The little “5” you see pictured in the casting of the turnbuckle body tells you its size. The other numbers are the stated material type. Did they all lie? Was it a language problem? Was it a measurement problem? Don't know, and ultimately don't care. Just glad I live in a country where I can buy, compare and return if needed. Thanks to Amazon for having an open marketplace. Fine set. I like that it comes with four karabiner AND four buckle hook screws for best options when installing a four-corner sail shade. I used all but loop plates & anchors as was mounting into cinder block wall and had to use expanding sleeve eye screws instead.

We bought these to hang a 13x20 shade sail in the back. The anchors went into the house and posts easily and the turnbuckles all worked to get the sail strung up. We had no issues with the installation and this allowed us to tighten everything down like we needed. Very well built and definitely recomment if you have something like a shade sail you need to hang.

The pad eyes and biners in this set are fine. I will, however, be replacing the turnbuckles. All 4 tried to crossthread when I was attempting to tension my sail. I got them tight enough, but I would feel better with something sturdier. One of the comments says they are M5 size. I can find a set of M8 size turnbuckles for about the price of this set, which is probably what I will go with. Overall, the set is fine. It seems to actually be stainless steel, which is definitely what you want. Maybe my sail is just too big for it, though, because the turnbuckles seem lacking.

Easy to install and use. I didn’t use the included screws and anchors for my brick wall , upgraded to tap on at the advice of the local hardware store associate. Other than that this contained everything needed for installing a shade sail

I had to return the sun sail I wanted to put up with this. I had quality problems with the sail. Now I can't use these and they don't accept returns.
