CARVED Matte Black Wood Case for Samsung Galaxy S5 - Birdseye Redwood Burl (S5-BC1U)

When I got my phone upgrade the salesman gave me a free Otterbox case for my phone, and I used it for a few months. No strong complaints, other than the fact that the screen cover wasn't waterproof. Anyway, after taking the casing apart for the 4th time to clean coffee out of the buttons, I decided that the Otterbox case was simply too damned thick and cumbersome to deal with. I love the Carved wood cases. It's slim, streamline, and I love the feel of the wood on my hands when I'm holding my phone, and the ease of volume control or connection hatch have made the world of difference. I think you'll enjoy this product if you're in the same position I was in.

I really liked this phone case at first... I like a little more of a protection case, but this is a more "standard" case. The wood on the back is really pretty. But be warned if this collects ANY moisture (like if you leave your phone on the bathroom counter while you shower & steam gets it just a tad) that wood is going to lift and peel right off, which doesn't make it pretty.Overall it's a case that covers your phone but I think I would have picked a different one for me.

Nice looking - good professional style case that is unique. Real wood, assembled in USA. Not the highest level of protection though - better than one from the 99 cent store, but not better than an average slimline made in China case. The plastic part of the case has a similar quality level to most slimline cases, it is the thin layer of wood that makes the wood that malkes the real difference. As a point of note, the wood is very thin but not just a lamination. Maybe 1/16" thick?

Perfect fit, beautiful finish. Great interior design and feels high quality. Protection does not cover top and bottom of phone - I tend to drop a lot, so this is a downside to me. But can't beat the look!! Feels sturdy compared to other wood designs.

Tons of comments on it, it looks great on the phone and fits really well. The rubberized border protects from edge issues. Not the most secure case I've ever used, but the GS5 (Samsung Galaxy S5) is a very durable phone on its own and doesn't require much protection. The most important parts are covered (edges and corners) and there is a 1mm lip that comes up above the screen to protect the screen if you drop it on its face.

Super cool. My only gripe is that after I dropped my phone once while having this case on, the plastic my the power button snapped. Still looks okay without it.

This is sweet. I needed a case that any auxiliary cord would fit, and the open top and bottom on this is perfect. I've dropped my phone a few times since putting on and the case hasn't cracked, which is impressive considering how streamline it is. Plus I get to rep my favorite city I've ever lived in :) Thanks guys!

Looks better in picture than in person, but very impressed none the less. It actually made my Galaxy S5 feel luxurious and more solid with the added weight and feel. I strongly recommend.

Fits the S5 Neo perfectly (same size as the regular S5). Not much protection for the top and bottom edges of the phone, but otherwise it feels durable and looks great!

Received the wrong sized case. Did not fit S5. It was purchased to replace another Carved case but did not switch them out until after exchange period expired.
