It's great, but it didn't come with a battery like it was supposed to, but that's minor

Do not purchase this thinking that you can use it as a costume prop; it's more of just a display item. It is constructed cheaply; it sprung and fell apart the first day of use. For the price you would expect a device that is of much higher quality.

I thought it was beautiful until the dials flew off the first time I flipped it open. It was a complete let down

It is ok, but just ok. The sound FX are overdone compared to any scene in the movie. The construction is ok, but it is very easy to assemble it wrong after installing the battery, and if you do assemble it wrong after installing the battery it is very hard to fix it. The opening mechanism is too easy to trip (needs a little more spring tension). The dials are very hard to operate and it is virtually impossible to read the info on the dials. The unit does not flash every time so, as a prop, it can be very anticlimactic if during a scene it does not flash. The display case is very nice, but I did not buy this to display it, I bought it as a prop.

This was supposed to be a very special gift for my husband. Instead it arrived broken and unusable. It had obviously been returned before. Wish I could replace at the same price but no option available via amazon from this 3rd party vendor. Can't express enough how disappointed I was to get my husband a defective specialty item.
