The metal was really thin, and easy to dent without careful handling, but it installs easily, and you cannot tell that it is installed, unless you try to put a disk in the CD caddy!

Adapter worked well in Dell Optiplex 9020 (Haswell generation) SFF. Also, by removing the DVD-RW adapter from the DVD-RW in an old Dell Optiplex 780 (Core2 Duo/Quad), it will work there also. An inexpensive solution that gives new life to older technology. Well worth the modest purchase price.

Ordered this on Monday, received on Wednesday. Installed a 1TB HDD into this caddy and inserted it into my old Toshiba Satellite. Install was quick and smooth. Fit was perfect. It was instantly recognized by the BIOS and Windows as a second HDD and put to full use. There is also a small indicator light on the front of this caddy to show that it is on. I intend to get another caddy soon for another laptop I own, a Lenovo IdeaPad. Overall, this was well worth every cent spent on this and then some.

The HDD caddy is compatible with older laptops that have a thicker optical disc drive. I used it for an Lenovo z570 so it was the perfect size for that laptop. It has a decent speed but I'd recommend this strictly for an HDD an SSD just doesn't make any sense because it won't even reach the speeds an SSD can provide. The ease of use is more dependent on how difficult your laptop model is to work on. On the z570 it was a couple of screws to finally install the caddy so it was easy. I find the quality of the caddy to be reasonable. It holds the HDD perfectly after it's completely installed. The only problem I had was with that the caddy isn't completely compatible with the original side cover of the disc drive. I had to use tape and some glue to get the side cover to stick on. If you want to work on an old laptop and revive it this is a great upgrade.

Works pretty good. Installed my SSD 2.5" drive inside, and onto an HP ProDesk 400 G1 SFF desktop PC. Because of USB pendisk I never use the much slower DVD player anyway. So now I have more space and better ventilation inside the PC. Recommended.

The product is fine. It did not fit my Lenovo R61i. The internal connection is not the same. It would likely fit on a newer model. I kept the product and will use on another unit later. Hard drive fit fine

This is not the super slim dvd form factor predominant in the laptops circa 2017 and after. I shouldn have noticed this from the description. Despite this, it's possible to pry the aluminum cage and make it work for slim dvd bays as well. It got the job done.

When the Caddy first arrived I wasn't too impressed with the quality or build, but once I tried it out and swapped the bezel over with the one from my optical drive, it worked well, so far so good.
