I have been ordering these walnuts now for some time as I am trying to increase my intake of Omega-3. I always buy the larger size, which sells out frequently. The larger bag has been unavailable several times. That should tell one something about the product! On two occasions that the larger bags were unavailable ( much more economical to buy the larger) I ordered different brands. I will not mention the names, but one was FULL of shells and other debris. The other LOOKED VERY NICE, but they tasted old and stale. I have learned my lesson. If unavailable, I will wait until they are! These are the BEST raw walnuts I have ever eaten! Fresh, no shells or debris, and it is a pleasure to grab a handful to munch! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND those brand. The best I have found! I hope they never go out of business. The others I ordered were $4-$5 less in price, but that is pointless if one cannot enjoy eating them. I am happy to pay $5 more - every penny is worth it! Nice to see a truly QUALITY product on Amazon, as many products from there are of inferior quality and a waste of money.*******************************UPDATE*** I have been ordering these walnuts now for months & they have ALWAYS been fresh & delicious - EXCEPT FOR THIS LAST BATCH! Stale, old tasting, inedible and BROKEN BADLY - as if one literally scraped the bottom of the barrel! DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED, but they did not go to complete waste - I gave them to the squirrels and birds. ******If I receive another batch like this, you will lose a customer!*****I have told several people how delicious these walnuts are - may have spoken too soon!

The quality and taste of the walnuts is very good. This is my 3rd order and I am pleased with every order. Side note, the last order was in the same box with my miracle gro order. The bottle leaked. I was glad the nuts were tightly sealed.

This was my first time shopping with this company, and it happened because my normal company was out until a week later, and I was out of my walnuts right now. Wanted them like yesterday, and was looking for a good price. I found it and so glad I did. The walnuts arrived quickly, the bag was in good shape it's nice and thick and it has a zipper like a zip lock bag does.As for the walnuts, oh they are nice, BIG meaty halves and pieces, fresh and good quality, of course there is the normal meal in the bag. But it's not a lot. That is a given, the circumstances of shipping is going to cause that. The walnuts rub against one another and the skins get rub off into the bottom of the bag. It can't be helped. And I have not found or seen any weird or unhealthy looking things in the bag or on the walnuts.When I first opened the bag and stuck my nose in I got that strong petroleum like smell from the bag it self, again can't be helped with sealed plastic bags. The walnuts are great though, I bake with them, but mostly I eat them raw out of hand or in a snack mixture. They have great taste and price was good for the quantity. I will be back for more of these walnuts from, I'm A Nut . I like the name also.Wish I could take a picture, but can't seem to get it to work.But the walnuts are really nice and worth every penny.

Excellent product! Fresh, well packed and tase very good. Roughly 1 year expiration date.I would definitely buy again.

Previously these were excellent in my morning cereal or to munch on with dried fruit. I've purchased a total of eleven 2lb+ size packages of raw California walnut halves & pieces from Amazon from 3 different vendors; twice I've gotten stale un-eatable bags from different vendors (all 4.5 stars or above). I'm sure it matter of careless storage or packaging or natural events. If you click on the "Returns: Eligible for Refund or Replacement" the pop-up message states, "This item is non-returnable, but if the item arrives damaged or defective, you may request a refund or replacement." The "request" issue is troublesome. I'll return to buying mine from the bulk section of the local natural foods store (where I can sneak a taste) until a new/next harvest year.
