The CEL code might need to be erased
I had contacted Red Parasol via e-mail regarding the possibility of receiving a defective gas cap because I was under the impression that my CEL was going to go out on its own after driving for a few miles once I replaced my old gas cap with this one but it didn't. After driving for a week or more I finally realized that the CEL light was not going to go out on its own. I erased the code and the CEL has not come back on. I ordered this gas cap on May 25, 2023 and received it May 27, 2023. I have a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder. Thank you Red Parasol for supplying this part.

Fits perfectly.
It was indeed the exact same OEM Genuine gas cap that came with the vehicle. It fit perfectly and had a good seal.

Quick and inexpensive repair for Service Engine light
My service engine light came on while driving. I knew that I should check the gas cap and when I did, found it was loose. The light went off about 20 miles later. It happened again about a month later, but this time the light didn't turn off. I took my car to my local auto parts store and they read the codes for me. It was an emission issue. I decided to try a new cap first rather than bring it to a repair shop. I purchased the genuine cap, even though there were others that were cheaper. It's worth it.

Do Not BUY
The part was advertised specifically for my vehicle, and upon returning the part, the return shipping charge is being deducted from my refund!!! So, I received a part that does not fit my vehicle, and then I have to pay to send it back???? SMH

just right
The cord on my filler cap had broken years before, so last summer I decided to spend a little COVID money on fixing up my truck. One thing was this replacement cap, which was dead perfect...a one-minute upgrade. All OEM sizing and seems well built.

Doesn't Fit
I searched for a Nissan gas cap, didn't want to buy generic! I put in my make and model, and it didn't fit, at all! I am extremely busy. Not into having to reship and make trips to the post office.

Doesn't include the mounting pieces.
Some goober pulled the cap's leash out of the mounting hole and I couldn't get it back in. I worried that the cap would be left at the pump, so I bought this cap. It is OEM and it fixed my problem.NOTE: the cap secures to the car with a second part - a small clip-like piece of plastic that you push into the mounting hole and it expands to anchor the leash. THAT PART IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS CAP. If you're missing that piece - and luckily I wasn't - this won't work for you.Otherwise, it's excellent.

Fixed my rough idle . . .
I bought a used 2002 Xterra for a song and began having a rough idle problem. CEL would come on at times and often go out upon refueling. Gas cap replacement seems to have fixed the issue. Decided to spend the extra on OEM to save headaches.
