The Art & Science of Respect: A Memoir by James Prince

I enjoyed the deep details of his life that I never knew about and his ups and downs. Also, to Know that he kept God first even thou he was in the streets and how his faith and discernment helped him make it to where he is now. If you are a fan of rap music and music business /independent music journey/the four fathers, it's a must read.

Best book put out

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an easy read.

This book spoke directly to me. Although I wasn't born and raised in similar circumstances as Mr. Prince or anyone from the 5th Ward I could empathy with the rest as being a melanoid man living in a system of white supremacy (which he detailed quite masterfully throughout his book.) It was a book that I have thoroughly been desiring for a long while since learning who J. Prince is and who he was to my favor genre of music growing up. He is who I desire to be like when I get to where I am going in life (almost in my 30s). Until I read this book I didn't quite understand why i had list(s) of goals set for my life which I would discuss with people but many would go uncompleted. This book helped me understand with masterful explanation through storytelling: to keep your mouth shut, and just grind, not for your first name but for your last name. The biggest take away from the book was his principles of "Heart, Loyalty and Commitment". One can have all the degrees and experience in the world but without these ingredients you will be mediocre at best. Thank you Mr. James Prince for a masterful book that was expertly put together. -Ano

I purchased this book for my son so that he could read it on the Kindle Fire I gave him. My son requested this book. I read the first page by error and could not and did not put it down until I completed it. Did I say I'm 65 years old and never have been that interested in most rap. I do have some idea of who a few of these people were in the book because of my children, nieces, nephews and the media. J. Prince was not one of those that I knew. I do Now! I totally look at his world and the industry differently now. Thank you Mr. Prince for sharing your life with me and helping me realize some of the young and not so young out there. My son could not believe I read this book. I'm so glad I did!!

First off, I was a HUGE Geto boyz fan back in 1989/ 1990 and I from NY... Geto Boyz were before their time and this was the classic Scarface I grew to love. Gangster of Love, Mind of a lunatic, Mr ScarFace is back... CLASSICS!!!J Prince was the guy who orchestrated this entire movement. Without his vision and gangster, the world would not know the Geto Boyz or Scarface perhaps..I jumped at the chance to cop this book.. It was good learning the behind the scenes happenings back then. I wish he could have elaborate more with detail, but I get it, code of the streets never die.

This book was AWESOME, J Prince was raw, open and REAL about his struggle, life lessons and success! Gems for every walk of life!I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Concise and to the Point!!!!!I’ll recommend this to my Friends, especially to the young Cats in my Life. A couple are coming home soon.He Parlayed his street sense, heart and faith and Changed the Game in the Boardroom which is A great Combination!!!I’m looking forward to the Audio book. I’ve seen a few interviews, His cadence and matter fact style will be great in an audiobook format.I’m CERTAIN he’s going to Narrate it himself...Note, The more things change the more they remain they same. There are certain rules of Life THAT ARE LAW and never get Old !!! We’ve all hear them growing up some use them and some don’t.Treat me good I’ll treat you better, treat me bad... I’m GOING TO TREAT YOU WORSE!

Just a great book and an inspiration to all who look for hope. While the gritty details aren’t shared in pages (really wanted to know what a courtesy call sounded like), it’s a memoir discussed in a positive light. Last name is Prince but man is nothing short of a King.

I learned a lot from this memoir. I’m so glad I read it & I am excited to implement some of his strategies in my own life.
