I agree with the majority of the sentiments above that this chain is heavy-duty and sturdy. I used it for a number of years and never had a problem. But thought for transparency's sake I should share that my motorcycle was stolen while it was locked with this chain, and the thieves were able to slice through the chain link below relatively quickly and easily without my dog or myself noticing. See photo, because it was so easily broken through with what appear to be clippers and it cost me thousands of dollars, two stars now seems fair.

This chain is HEAVY. I've not attacked it with industrial belt cutters but I imagine it'll put up a good fight. I marked it down a bit because the lock is pretty flimsy and is quite difficult to actually lock. I end up fiddling with the key for about 75 seconds every time I lock it trying to secure it and then actually remove the key. I think this has something to do with the way the posts are seated in the lock body.That said, the chain itself is sturdy, it's a decent length if you use the loop method, and you can replace the crappy lock with something a little more reliable. Just remember, if you plan on lugging this thing around in a backpack its going to make your load substantially heavier.

The headline virtually sums it up. After spending a little over $200 to revive a bike that I had since my teen years, I knew I had to protect my investment. Even though, this chain may seem like it's overkill for a bicycle, I can rest comfortably knowing that my bike won't be going anywhere without my permission. I read in one of the other reviews that you can cut through this chain with a hacksaw and my only response is that if you have more than an hour or two to do some sawing then by all means knock yourself out. Ultimately, if any thief can cut through this chain with a simple hacksaw then they truly deserve the title of "Low-Life Scumbag" and Trimax should definitely consider redesigning this chain. Also, take your time when inserting the keys into the lock, they appear to be somewhat flimsy but will open the lock in seconds if all the mechanisms within the keyhole are lined up correctly. And finally, this chain will add some weight to your bike, so if you don't have a sufficient amount of upper body strength or would grow tired of having to wrap and unwrap this chain, I would suggest that you buy a U-Lock.

This is a hefty chain and, so far, the lock has worked smoothly. Given the the weight and bulk of the chain, care must be given when locking your bike to protect the frame/paint and spokes from any possible damage. I definitely feel my e-bike is fairly safe with this chain on it.

Super heavy chain secures generator to post and trailer frame. Will convince all but determined thieves to try elsewhere.

Very heavy duty. Comes with 3 keys and one of them has a light built in that's tiny, just enough to see at night. The welds on the links are just ok. Some not all the way through the chain links. Otherwise, gonna do just fine.

This lock is everything it advertises and will protect your items. I used mine exclusively on vacation last month and it gave me piece of mind when locking it in our complex.Note:1. This lock and chain is very heavy so carrying it on every ride can be cumbersome and will take getting used to. If you have a bag on your bike you won't have issues but you will know it is there due to the weight.2. When I first opened the package I tired the lock out with all of the keys and I did have trouble opening it at first but there is a trick that I used and have not had problems. First, use WD40 as this will save you allot of using bad words and making you think that the lock does not work. Second, slowly insert the key and make sure it goes all the way in before turning. After I opened and closed the lock a few times and everything is working great.I would recommend this a friend...enjoy

My digital scale says this chain weighs in at 8.6 pounds....and it sure is hefty. The welded links seem to be well done with no spatter or unwelded sections as far as I can see without removing the shrouding.Be sure however that you are happy paying the price for the CHAIN ALONE because the lock seems to be a piece of garbage. The advertising says it is solid steel but when it is open and the shackle removed you can clearly see it is only a TUBE of steel..quality suspect..with plastic and vinyl inside and out. The key is a simple design of I think 3 wafers and is so loose in the cylinder that I'm frankly surprised it works at all and I'm very certain it would be problematic if I chose to use it,...which I WILL NOT. I purchased this chain specifically for a new motorcycle I bought and a good chain with a cheap lock is pointless so I bought a good lock. This one will end up collecting dust or securing a shed door or something not too important. I doubt very much if it is waterproof given the slack and sloppy way it feels but I'm satisfied with the chain and that was REALLY all I wanted. To see how vulnerable and flimsy these locks are just do a search on Youtube and you'll do as I did...buy a GOOD lock to lock up your precious stuff.

I bought this lock to secure my mobility scooter outside of my apartment. It is almost impossible to take bolt cutters or a saw to. I'm actually so impressed with this lock I fully intend to buy another one, as I've found 2 would be better for my purposes. It certainly poses a big deterrent when coupled with an alarm system on the bike. I use a D-Lock with cable when I go out shopping as the lock is heavy and heavy duty!

Got this for a great price, and couldn't be happier. Solid build, the lock jammed up the first time I used it but a few taps with a hammer and it's been fine ever since.

This locker is very strong and made in good materials but it is too heavy I bought it to lock my scooter but it's so heavy I don't know how I am gonna manage to ride my scooter with this Chain

Great value. Nice chain. But the lock is a cheap one. Buy a different lock, keep the chain
