It was everything I hoped for
I go though boots like nobody's business. I've tried expensive ones. I've tried cheap ones. I've tried middle of the road ones. These I will buy again. They hit the sweet spot, between comfort and price. No boot will last forever, so spending $300 every 6 months is a little crazy, and if you go the other way and go with $20 boots, ha, good luck! You may spend less, but your feet are gonna hurt, your gonna be slipping everywhere, and getting wet, and having to buy a new pair every 2 months. These boots are holding up well, no catastrophic failures, just normal wear on the bottoms. You'll be spending significantly less than the pricy boots, nearly just as comfortable, and they will last you just as long. My only complaint was that there was a spot on the top of the toe box where the suede was messed up. I could have probably returned them and got another pair sent to me, but I don't wear them to be pretty, I wear them to get work done, and for that, they are fantastic. Especially compared to the boots I bought right before these on Amazon. If you're considering these boots, stop wasting your time, and hit buy now. You could spend all day weighing the pros and cons, reading a million reviews, saying eenie meenie miny mo, but just get them, and be done with it. They fit well They are comfortable They look good They keep your feet dry They hold up well Keep in mind, that I do not generally go through extremely rugged terrain with these, but they give every indication that they would be up to the challenge. What I do know is that I can walk 15 miles and not end up with painful, soggy, blistery feet.

Great hiking boot.
These are very comfortable for walking in for hours in rough terrain. They fit as expected and the waterproofing seems to hold up. UPDATE: It has been about a one year now since I bought these boots. I wear these boots 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, and walk about 10 miles a day with these. I have to say after a year they hold up really well. So far they have held up to the long distances I put them through and still look like they're in good condition. I have put hundreds of miles through these boots in the last year and nothing about them has failed me. The sole shows little signs of wear, the insole isn't torn or worn and still provides excellent support. This Boot provides great water resistance, my feet have never gotten wet as long as the boot is properly tied. Even the laces are still in really great shape of which I'm the most surprised. I thought soon after getting these that the laces would start too rip apart, but not yet. If I had to guess with the high usage I use them, these boots still have probably another 2 years in them for me. Overall I'm very happy with this pair of boots, and I don't think for the money you can beat them. I also intend to buy another pair so I can keep one pair at work and one at home.

Great boots
I've worn these off and on for a year. Took a while to break in, but they are very comfortable.

Great boot for construction or hiking
I work in construction, boots do not last me very long in my line of work. A handful of months at best. Most boots are also very heavy for their lack of durability. I have to give these boots credit. They’re very size accurate. Great traction in mud. Very comfortable and lite which matters a lot if you’re on your feet carrying a lot of weight all day. And they support your ankles and keep you from twisting them on rough loose terrain unlike those junkie slip on boots “country boys” love if I can wear the tread out on the bottom before the glue starts pulling apart. I’ll edit my review and give it five stars.

YOU NEED THESE BOOTS
The Newton Ridge Hiking Boots have to be the best set of boots I have found in a long time. I have used them on all terrains ranging from sand to mud and even at work on concrete and they have maintained their comfort. They are not like other hiking boots which press into the sides of your feet after wearing them for a while, but instead these are like walking on air. Their grippy soles have also been invaluable when I work outside wearing them as they have thankfully saved me from slipping in mud after a decent sized storm. The best uses for these boots would definitely revolve around anything outdoors as the durable sides also protect your feet from getting poked by small tree branches and other things you may step in. The only con of these guys have to be their original laces being slightly too long. I find that I have to double knot them in order to stop them from coming loose due to getting snagged on something and even then they sometimes find a way to get unclasped from the top quick removal hooks that you loop them through. However this design is compensated for at the end of the day when you want to quickly slip out of them and go on about your evening. After a solid six months of use, I would definitely recommend these boots to any aspiring outdoorsman or even to people who work indoors that require a durable yet forgiving boot.

Comfortable hiking boots!
Love these boots! Looked at all the different styles of hiking boots and tried on many but these boots were by far the most comfortable and good looking and the price was under $90 !Timberland makes some nice boots but they don,t fit as well as Columbia brands ! I have purchased other shoes from Columbia and they all are very comfortable ! When your buying hiking boots always get them a 1/2 size larger and you will have no problems !The looks of these boots look just like the mountain boots the Swiss go hiking in when they hike up the Matterhorn ! That being said you don,t want to climb the Matterhorn in these ! They just have that look and right now it is the new trend ,these are very fashionable and can be worn with a flannel and blue jeans and your all set ! I got my Boots for about $76 here on Amazon, I looked around but the regular price everywhere was $90 ! I think the price is excellent considering these boots are really nice looking and they are comfortable and that,s all i need considering im not doing any Mountain Climbing and i bought them because i liked the look not because im going to Mt Everest or Mt Kilamanjaro! I bought the tan suede boots which in my opinion looks great with the red laces ! They do come in 3 different colors but some are harder to find and prices do vary from place to place depending on the color ! Remember if your in the market for a pair of these go to a Bobs store or some other retailer where you can try these on just in case you buy them online ! I give these boots a 10 because they are look great and they fit excellent!

Quality, Style and Comfort
I'm not a hiker but I've purchased several variations of these hiker boots. Compared to other hikers I've purchased in the past, there is no comparison. These are of great quality and are also very comfortable to wear. They are also extremely stylish with many colors/styles available in each category as well as many different hiker categories to choose from. I wear them casually on a daily basis and they really offer superior support compared to a tennis shoe or sneaker. They are not heavy and do not make your feet feel tired. They can be pricey, but if you keep an eye on them, they go on sale often and that's an added bonus. I can't vouch for how they hold up on real hiking trips, but for every day casual use, they are definitely 5-star.

CHECK YOUR INSOLES!
I don't know if this was supposed to be this way or if I just got a lucky set, but my shoes came with 2 insoles and I didn't know it. Which is cool, but they were both installed in the shoes when I got them, and I didn't know, which led me to believe these shoes were a really tight fit at first. I ended up wearing them a couple times to try to break them in and the second time I wore them all day and my feet were killing me so I had to see what was up. I thought maybe they sent me a wrong size, and even began questioning my own knowledge of my feet size, since the last time I put my foot on one of those measuring things at the shoe store I was probably like 6 years old, so hey, maybe I'm not a 10.5, maybe I'm an 11. And just when I had convinced myself I grew a shoe size I reached for the insole to pull it out to see if maybe it was some crazy cushion insole (as they did feel SUPER cushiony on the feet) to find that there was not one but 2 insoles in each shoe! I instantly realized what the problem was, and set one set of insoles aside, and re installed the singular set of insoles, and lo and behold, these are the comfiest damn shoes I have worn in some time, no joke. These went from being a questionable purchase to one of the best purchases in almost no time at all. These things hug your feet in all the right places, and make them feel not only really comfortable, but really secure, which gives your feet this like weird confidence to them. Like walking over things just feels... right. Took these things hiking on some trails, and even hiking to the coast of oregon through their sand dunes, and it handled it all very well. They are supposedly pretty waterproof, and haven't quite tested that, but they are pretty well sandproof and that was definitely a plus more me, cause I hate sandy shoes. Maybe I am biased from wearing skate shoes all my life, but I'm glad I decided to get a pair of "adventure shoes" cause they really make all the difference in the world.
