helpful, thought provoking teaching that will improve anyone’s art.
Full of nicely composed teaching that delves deeply into how to change and evolve how I see the process of image creation with specific changes to my techniques that have stepped up my art significantly. A very helpful, actionable and inspiring tool to take you to a new level.

Great Information On Composition
I really enjoy Marc Silber's instructions in his Kelby One lessons. This book follows along with his lesson on composition very well and the reason why I purchased his book.

This is a wonderful book on composition
This is a wonderful book on composition. Of course there are the well known compositional tools, but what I especially loved were the mood lines explained and with photos to help understand them more. I've seen these diagrams before but could never quite put my head around a lot of them. Marc has them described and photos to show the mood. And then of course, you can begin to look for these lines in nature, portraits, landscapes etc. ......it's a useful book, one to take with you and study and practice over and over until it becomes second nature. Highly recommend this book to beginners and professional photographers as well

A good "Field guide" and quick reference book for expanded knowledge of compositional concepts.
After getting the book I started reading. I finished it in a couple of hours and realized that I knew some, but not all, of the secrets. Some of the examples were difficult to follow due to poor reproductions but I intend to use the book as explained in the beginning. It will be included in my photo gear as a reference guide I can refer to in the field. Easy to understand and a nice handbook for quick reference.

The Secrets to Creating Amazing Photos is so Easy to Use
I never really understood the composition techniques that I had read about. The entire subject seemed so confusing so when it said that this was easy I had to get it. Yes, The Secrets to Creating Amazing Photos: 83 Composition Tools from the Masters, seemed to me like a recipe book. I keep it in my camera bag!My composition immediately improved and seems suitable for all levels of photographers. My husband is a semi-pro and he said the cleared up some misconceptions he had.I looked Marc Silber up and signed up for his mailing list and now I get photography tips from him all the time. So helpful.

Valuable book for creating powerful photographic images
The title of the book doesn't immediately give you an indication of the valuable information contained in it. Unlike most photography books that either show you pretty pictures or discuss technical settings of the camera, this book presents 83 composition tools used by photographers and master painters to create an image. In other words, it's a book you can use to create more powerful photographic images. It's easy to read and provides photographic images to demonstrate each composition tool.

Interesting Advice
This book has tried and true advice as well as some concepts that are vaguer and harder to get your arms around. Still, an interesting read and advice considered. One criticism I read from reviewers is that the Look Inside wasn't very helpful.

Some good information, but images used to illustrate the rules of composition are not good.
I got this book after the review published by Ken Rockwell. It really is nothing groundbreaking, and I am not sure if Ken is right on this one. Anyways, Mark has made some good points in the book. However, my biggest misgiving about the book is the sample images or the lack there of. The quality of images used for illustrating the different rules of composition is really not that great, and I wish Marc has used some better examples.

More of a travelogue than a photography book
Lots of ideas but a bit short on substance. I felt this was a case of look where I've been and I've taken some pictures. I didn't find it inspiring at all. Spend your hard earned pennies on someone more interesting like Michael Freeman, Robin Whalley or David Taylor

Disappointing
The book content was not what I thought it would be. It was purely about photo composition ~ I was expecting more technical guidance alongside this.
