I became interested in Indian cuisine a year or so ago and did most of my shopping at a local family-owned (LOVELY family!) specialty store. With Covid-19 (I'm very high risk), I'm doing whatever I need to do to stay safe, so I've been acquiring food differently than I ever imagined.I really like "real" basmati rice and was out, so I tried Amazon. Yes, it's more expensive than the local store, but services cost money. Getting stuff delivered from the supermarket costs more too. It's just how it is. Hopefully, none of us will have to live through another pandemic in our lifetimes!ANYway...I tried this rice and was blown away by the fragrance when I opened the bag- it was WONDERFUL! It cooks up well, too (I don't soak it, but I do rinse it until the water runs clear). And if I wasn't a complete klutz and always dropping things, I wouldn't be buying it again quite so soon!

Unfortunately, this rice did not meet expectations. It had an unpleasant odor and was one of the poorest quality rice varieties I’ve ever cooked. The taste was equally disappointing, and the color was off — it was not the typical white rice appearance. Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience.
