Nice quality needles, poor quality base and lights
This is a DIY tree if ever I saw one. I bought it for a simple office decoration, but I've had to doctor everything, from the base to the battery pack, just to get it to stand up, turn on and look decent. The tree was packed in a narrow box, so the branches were wrapped around each other. It took a while to pull it back to life, but the bow never recovered. It sits twisted and sad at the top of the tree, about half the size of that depicted in description. The tree is covered in a very fine glitter which gets everywhere - which would be okay, except with it falling over and me having to lay it down to work on the battery pack, my counter space got messy very quickly. The base is about 4" tall, but only about 2.5" wide, so one touch and the tree can fall over. The cheap burlap wrapped around the base was fraying from the moment I took it out of the box. In order to get the tree to stand up, I had to place it in a larger pot, and pack paper around it to keep it still. Annoying. Plan to use a tree stand or larger pot to ensure it stays balanced. The bulbs on the tree looked nice, and the pine needles were surprisingly nice, too, not cheap like I've seen in a lot of places. However, the lighting left a lot to be desired. Rather than intertwine the fiber optics with the pine needles, they are a string of little lights wrapped around the tree, with sprays attached at the end of each light. Thus in daylight, the sprays look excessive, cheap and unlit. Better to have just wrapped tree with changing light string instead. The battery pack was an issue too. It took a minute to figure out how to open it. Once open, I discovered it does NOT hold batteries firmly - and with AAA batteries, that's a big issue. I had to cut and fold foil into the pack's leads to firm up the connections, just to keep the lights on. Even then, if the cover isn't put on just right, the batteries can move around, causing it not to turn on until the batteries, foil and cover are readjusted. Now I know you're thinking, well, you get what you pay for. The issue is, I bought a different fiber optic tree from Target a few years ago, a style I have not been able to find since. I only paid $30 for that tree, and it's lasted for years. I was hoping for something similar this time, but no such luck. For a basic pre-decorated, pre-lit tree it's okay with a little doctoring, but not ideal. Bottom line, having a PLUG IN tree with fiber optics mixed in with the pine needles is a much better way to go. I would've returned it, but it's too close to the holiday now. Better to just deal with it, and re-light it properly next year, than to do without.

Good tabletop tree but goes through batteries quickly.
I chose this tree because I wanted something inexpensive that wouldn't take up a lot of space, and, for the most part, I'm happy with my purchase. The included decorations are good enough for me, and the fiber-optic LED lights are bold, bright, and really warm up my living room.My setup time was a bit longer than the two minutes cited in the product description; pulling down the individual branches is easy enough, but doing so in a way that doesn't leave big holes requires a little bit of effort. I know some other reviewers had trouble getting the tree to stand upright, but mine did fine out-of-the-box, without any extra rigging or engineering. There was some loose glitter to clean up when unpacking, and the tree dropped a bit more after I set it up. Not really a big deal.My only real gripe with the tree is the way it's powered. Running the lights on batteries gives you some freedom to put the tree where you want, but boy does it go through batteries quickly. It does auto-off on its own after a few hours -- and this is a good thing -- but after 5-6 full on cycles the lights become dim and start to flicker until you change the batteries. This issue can be addressed with a couple of sets of rechargeable batteries, but that just adds to the cost of what should be a budget Christmas tree. The product description makes it very clear that this is a battery-operated tree, but I still wish it had wired power.Aside from my issue with the power supply, I'm happy with my purchase. I bought it around the holidays for $35, and I think that's a fair price. It's a bargain at the $25 price I'm seeing now. This is a great tree for a small space (I rent a modest-sized apartment) or to supplement other holiday decorations.

Great idea mediocre/uneven execution and sloppy delivery
nice idea, poor execuition and pathetic delivery... so, the idea gets a five, the execuiton gets a three (at best) an the delivery gets a one....horThe scale of this tree is nice, the decorations avoid tacky and manage a half-way campy effort that is not inapprpriate for the holiday and the lights are whimsical and delightful. The battery box provides few cues on how to open, and one risks personal injury in opening the sharp-edged plastic box. The tree arrives smashed in a box, and one must artfully re-assert the horizontal nature of a branch for that good ole metaphor of a tree to emerge. My wife removed the lights, balanced branches for a "classic shape' and then redecorated...The base is a mysery to me, and we wondered if something was missing in our delivery, as the base is utterly and completely inadequate in keeping the tree vertical. We finally jammed the base into a base that we had from days when we had a live tree.the Amazon box arrived intact, but the box with the manuracturer's label was a hot mess... the end was smashed, which must have happened in the "handoff" from the supplier to Amazon. Some of the tree needles were mashed into sealing tape, Removing thte lights so that the branches could be properly positioned resulted in a cascade of glitter, pretty much everywhere.Had we understood this was a craft assembly project, I would be less harsh in my assessment, but I was operating under the naieve illusion, derived from the picture, that we were ordering a tree that could be pulled intact from the box and then powered up... and then it would be a tree that would stand on its own.... Since my wife loves a craft project, she made this thing work for us, but frankly, I remain disappointed.
