Is this bike pretty light ? I have bought a bmx type bike for another son and it is so heavy makes it harder to pedal

In my opinion this is not a light bike, however this is what makes it sturdy. My 3.5 years old did not find it dificult to pedal. This opinion is subjective - check the specifications of the bike to get exact weight.

Nothing really it could be a tad lighter but otherwise great lil bike.

my son will be turning 5 next month. He's a little under 42" and his inseam is 17". Which size should I get him?

Get the 16" just put the seat all the way down. We tried out different ones in a store and with the 12" my son felt very comfortable on but his legs were bent too much. The 16" is a little bigger but with the training wheels he has no problem at all and I know he will have some room to grow. My boy is 4 - (5 in two months) - and is about that same height. Your child is going to LOVE this bike.

We just received our 20” bike for our son. The kickstand was already on bike but will not retract so he can ride his bike. How do we fix this?

My bike had training wheels on it so the kick stand was not attached. Please call customer service at Royalbaby bikes. They were very helpful with me and can talk you through it.
