How does the tent piece attach the the cot/mattress: Velcro, buckles, zippers, etc.? Just wondering if it can keep bugs out.

How high off ground is mattress.

16.5 inches from ground to cot. Add the Air mattress additional 4 inches thick. You would be approximately 20 inches off the ground. I ordered 2, we love them.
