A friend of mine replaced his around the same time and bought a slightly more expensive one that was actually of worse build quality
For a replacement it has a higher build quality than the OE bearing from the factory. A friend of mine replaced his around the same time and bought a slightly more expensive one that was actually of worse build quality; the main body of the bearing was made of plastic and was rattling again within a week. My replacement has been in for three weeks at the time of this review and the only rattling is the heavy gearing in my transmission. Hoping this one will keep for years to come.

Should last a long time.
Good quality with cast-iron housing. Bearing is very smooth. No more throw out bearing squealing in my jeep!

Must-Have for the NSG370 M/T
Much better replacement over OEM. All steel construction- and this TOB can take a beating. I'm on my 2nd National TOB and they just don't quit. Significantly thicker over the MOPAR or LUK replacement TOB. A must-have for any manual NSG370 transmission.

Fits a Wrangler TJ 4.0
The unit is made out of metal in all areas instead of plastic and metal like the cheaper units. It worked fine for a month but now has a bearing whirl noise when idle.

Arrived Defective - BEWARE! Not the only one!
Nothing like having your Jeep tore down so you're ready for the parts...and the parts show up defective. Lesson learned. This bearing arrived badly off center, spun roughly, and had some sticky gunk on the face that actually touches the fingers on the plate. It's one thing to need to clean the part, but this is flat out unusable. The clutch kit came with a Throwout Bearing - it has a plastic composite sleeve, but the face is metal...I see people complaining about the plastic in the reviews for the Kit (the LUK kit, 065), but no one actually saying they used it and it broke. The Jeep forums have a few people who have used the kit's TOB for 25k miles and still going, no complaints. This has convinced me to give that a shot. This part will be going back - and hopefully not shipped out to the next customer. It seems like there's more than a few people this has happened to...

Solid feel
Used this in my 2004 TJ. I love the solid feel. It has been about 5 months of steady Southern California stop-and-go traffic and it is still perfectly quiet. You can tell the tolerance of the bearing is close and tight.

Very smoothBetter than the one that came with the clutch kit

Much better than the Crown.
Eliminated the worry of extra plastic the crown brand contains.
