Zebra SB14-BK Multifunction Pen Sharbo X ST3 Black

I work on the flight line for the Air Force, we're required to have a black, pencil and a red pen on us at all times. This pen has it in one and you can customize it any way you want. One thing to be noted, IT DOES NOT COME WITH ANY OF THE WRITING COMPONENTS. You have to buy them separately, which can be a little costly. Also the eraser on the pen is pretty small but this is common for Japanese mechanical pencils .Otherwise, the transitions are smooth between the components and the ink writes well. Nothing to complain about from me.

This is a fine pen for everyday use or as a gift. The quality is amazing and it’s mechanics are well designed.

Overall the pen itself works great. The pen's construction feels solid with good weight and a smooth mechanism. Installing the components was pretty easy as well.However, my biggest challenge is that there is no customer support for this pen. I lost the top that covers the eraser, and I have no way to replace it without buying another pen. I also wouldn't know who to contact if the mechanism fails. I guess that's the risk you have to take if you want to purchase a product that was intended for sale outside of your country.

The pen is nice to write with but does not include ink. You have to buy it separately. Overall the contraception is very cool to fidget with. The all-metal body feels nice.

Smoothest, highest quality of construction and “coolest” (if you can say that about a writing implement) pen you’ll ever own. Amazon doesn’t have the best selection of Zebra refills, but comparing the 0.5mm gel rollerball D1 refills to the Uni Jetstream, I’d say the Zebras win hands down. Jetpens.com is on the west coast and they have a great selection of Zebra D1 refills. I’m in Boston and got mine in a week or less for standard shipping. If you’re thinking about buying this pen, just STOP and buy it now. You won’t be sorry.

So far it seems to be a good sturdy pen with lots of functionality. I liked the ability to customize what colors I want/need. Now I'm just waiting to see how long each ink cartridge lasts. There is no default closed position where nothing is showing so I typically leave it in pencil mode and switch to ink when needed. Maybe a little pricey for just a shell but overall I'm pretty happy with the choice.
