StrikerMen’s Climate Insulated, Waterproof Ice Fishing Bib with Sureflote Flotation Technology

I am happy to provide an extensive review. If you are passionate about ice-fishing, like I am. And, are looking for new bib overalls, these are the ones I chose.At the end of the 2021 season, I recognized that my bib overalls were getting frayed. I did an Internet search for something new, thinking that I might find an end-of-the-season sale on something really nice. Hours of searching. Everything from $100 to $700 (couldn't believe that), and came up with nothing. Mainly because none of them had everything I knew I wanted...from 16 years of being on the ice in all conditions. I just gave up. Seriously, something with lots of good features, but the legs only zip-up at the ankle? Are you kidding? Many examples like that. So, I just used my same pair of bibs for the next season. Then, I did the same thing all-over again this year. I think I have a winner...with some caveats.First of all, I can't give 5 stars because I haven't actually worn them on the ice yet (it's June). The first pair I ordered just didn't seem to be comfortable. My previous bibs were a size large. And, I did order a size x-large, but they were still tight through the waist and chest. Yes, since the pandemic my belly has gotten bigger, but my old pair was still fine. After ordering an xx-large, no problem. So, the first point to make is that they are shaped and sized more for a string bean, than a pear. Second, the zip-out inner liner is a desirable feature, but it's from the waist down. I suspect that contributes to the waist feeling more restrictive, because of the necessary zipper to be sewn into the waist. Fortunately, the bibs come with a type of Velcro system (am I allowed to say that?) where you can adjust the inseam in case you had to go to a larger size. In my opinion, these are the features or must-haves that caused me to purchase them.1. The legs have full zippers up to the hip. That includes the inside liner, if you are using it. The zippers are also able to be opened from the top, if you need to let some air in. Additionally, all the zippers are good quality and smooth. Don't snag or catch.2. The flaps for the leg or front chest have magnetic closures. Just bring them close together, and it's done! No snaps. It's really cool.3. The zip-out liner is a definite bonus (from the waist down). If you are going ice-fishing whether it's 30 degrees or minus zero, leave them in or take them out. Makes for an easier decision on purchasing a set of bibs that will cover all possibilities. And, you won't need all the extra layers underneath...4. The bibs have a reinforced knee with snakeskin (?). I wore out the knees on my previous bibs, and I would have wet knees all day.5. Roomy front pockets with a zipper, and a flap that can be snapped over the zipper. That's where I keep my car keys, fishing license, etc. Plus, a fabric-type hand wipe that snaps to the outside of the pocket.6. Maybe it's just me, but the front zipper on the chest should be capable of opening from the bottom. To allow for those times when you need...some relief. Amazing to me that more expensive bibs didn't include that?7. Felt-lined pockets in the chest area. Just for those times when you want a place for your hands, while waiting for a flag.Again, these were the criteria that mattered to me. I don't have any concern over the warmth or durability, after comparing materials and insulation with other choices. The elastic straps over your shoulders are typical. No better or worse than most. Possibly an area of improvement? Still, I'm keeping them, and can't wait to get back out on the ice. If you feel the same, maybe I saved you some time.Update - ice fishing yesterday with the temperature around 10 degrees F, and the wind was gusting around 25 MPH. Just the right conditions to do a real assessment of these bib overalls...First of all - with the zip in liner, I only wore a base layer underneath. Which is meant to wick away moisture, but not really provide additional warmth. My legs never felt cold. And, I was sitting outside on my bucket, not inside the shanty. Everything else about the normal course of being there...reaching inside your pockets, or using the fabric wipes attached to the pockets, or kneeling on the ice...it was all natural, without giving thought to making a mental adjustment to accommodate for a pair of overalls that just didn't match or seem to function the way you would expect.I was also interested in how well the inseam adjustment would last or maintain itself while moving around. It was excellent. No issues.And, my decision to buy a size XXL was perfect. Extremely comfortable to sit or walk around. I don't consider myself an XXL. But, I would recommend going with a size larger than you might think.Final note - it's probably not a thing that might occur to you, when comparing different choices. But, most bib overalls do have an annoying buckle or attachment at the chest, for the shoulder straps. Which does irritate that specific area (nipples). These overalls have a flat fabric/Velcro attachment for the shoulder straps. That particular design feature suggests that I'm not the only one that has experienced that kind of discomfort. Which tells me that these bib overalls were made by people that truly do go ice fishing, and know what matters.

They fit perfectly and are very warm, even in -35 temps out on the lake. Great value for the money and very durable. Zipper quality is great and no problems even in below zero temps.

Beyond warm! I often use without the inner liner. You should also get under clothing that will wic away sweat. You will not be cold in these bibs. Great quality. I use mine primarily for construction work and snowmobiling. The knees are padded, and they haven't gotten wet while kneeling. I'm beyond pleased.Trust the sizing chart. You can self-hem these if need be. They have velcro at the bottom of the leg to adjust. That's great because most other bibs drag on the ground and get wet

best ive used in alaska, waterproof and warm and easy to zip

I been looking at one of these for a while, once they went on sale I jumped at one. Feels great when worn and doesn't at all feel like my movement is restricted(in my experience anyways). Hope it lasts for a good while.
