Exploring diversity and unity
This is a captivating and eye-opening journey into the lives of children from diverse cultures around the globe. π Through vibrant illustrations and engaging storytelling, Lamothe beautifully showcases the unique daily routines, traditions, and joys of seven real children from different countries. ππ§π¦ From Japan to Italy, from India to Uganda, each page offers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of humanity, celebrating both our differences and our shared experiences. π This book not only educates young readers about cultural diversity but also fosters empathy, understanding, and a sense of global interconnectedness. ππ It's a wonderful reminder that while our lives may be different, we are all part of the same global family. πβ¨ Thank you, Matt Lamothe, for creating such a beautiful and important book that inspires curiosity, empathy, and appreciation for our world's diverse cultures. ππ

Awesome!
Awesome book! My 6 year old has a special interest in different cultures and this was a perfect gift for her. She had so many questions and comments as we read, it took a solid hour to get through the whole thing. Not complaining! It's great to keep her attention for that long.

I LOVE THIS BOOK
I LOVE THIS BOOK. Just putting it my classroom library next year will provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop social studies concepts. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying it myself! It is absolutely beautiful, and worth going back to again and again. (Those are the best classroom books!)In addition to the detailed artwork depicting how each child spends each part of his or her day, the book includes a photo of each child and their families, and a map to show where they live.I like the author's note and biographical information at the end. He tells how he compiled the information for making the book, and he outlines his own day. He is almost another character, an inspiring one! Thanks, Matt, for the writing idea for my students!

Great for learning about other cultures!
Love this book! We got it for our daughter's 4th birthday, and she asks us to read it daily. I love that the author chose countries that most young American kids don't get a chance to learn much about, like Uganda, Peru, Iran. Some of the names and other things (food, games) are tough to pronounce, but it inspires us to look it up and learn a little more. And it's hard to remember the name of the child representing each country/culture as you go through the book, but I think you get the hang of it once you've read through it 10 times. The book goes through a day in the life of these kids, so we get to compare their lives (home, family, school, meals) with our own. I'm going to add something to each page for my daughter's story, so she can see how her life is similar or different in each part of the day.

Great book although a bit hard to follow!
Great book describing different children around the world and their everyday lives! It doesnβt read like a typical reading book (front to back) but it requires the reader to constantly flip the pages to remember which child each description belongs to. My little one loved the last page where it showed actual photos of the children with their families.

Real families portrayed
The format is interesting for children. The illustrations and photos introduce the similarities worldwide. The differences in climate and food and are interesting. Respect is important.

I love this book--and my kids like it too
I love this book--and my kids like it too. It goes beyond the ordinary country comparisons (for example, only one of the kids lives in a capitol city, so you don't just get "Jean lives in Paris and eats baguettes") and it's full of the nitty-gritty details that fascinate kids. My son is amazed that kids in Peru drink coffee. The families are economically as well as ethnically diverse, but the book doesn't make a big deal about how "diverse" it is. It describes without comment families with 8 children who sleep next to each other on boards and families with two children who have their own rooms, families that eat basically the same thing three meals per day, and families that don't. We have the Kindle version but I'd like to get paper version some day because the illustrations are rich and beautifully colored.

Wonderful book
My 4 year old LOVES this book! It shows images of 7 children from all over the world in their daily routine! What they eat, where they live, how they dress, how they play, their family members etc... It's wonderfully relatable to my daughter!

Great illustrations and families
I'm giving it 5 stars primarily for the beautiful illustrations of the lives of these seven children. Enjoyed this tiny glimpse into their lives and their beautiful culture. Will recommend this for kids under 10 or 11 and other artists for inspiration.
