So I bought two of these for when I have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. There is one for my bathroom and one for my future guest bathroom when I finally close on my new house next month. Now, I have seen too many (and I mean TOO MANY) videos of people having snakes come up the pipe lines and out of their toilets. So naturally, I have to turn on a light at night to make sure there's not a snake in the toilet that's going to bite me as soon as I sit down.In case you were wondering, this little ritual makes it's a pain to go back to sleep.My husband made fun of me so much when he saw that I ordered these. He didn't believe me at first when I told him about the snakes. He kept poking fun and made even more jokes when he realized I was serious.I put three AA batteries in (which was a little difficult, but not impossible) and put the cover back on (again more work than necessary). It didn't quite sit flat against my toilet bowl, but mine is really old and bigger than most. It worked great. I was surprised to see that the light changes color every few seconds instead of staying one solid color. You can also press the button under the sensor (which is BOTH a motion and light sensor!!) to make the light brighter or dimmer. If you hold for two seconds and wait for it to start flashing, you can choose to keep it a solid color.I was so amazed. I thought that the light would stay on for a while, but it lasts for about 30-ish seconds. It turns on from a few feet (3-5) away and is really bright. It will also turn itself off automatically if you turn on the light switch or shine a bright light near the sensor. That is an amazing feature because it keeps it turned off during the day and saves the battery.Well fast forward several hours after I received it. Hurricane Delta just made landfall in Southern Louisiana and at 9:54 PM, the electricity in my house went out. I don't have a generator (stupid, but that's not the point). Well, that means we were stuck using our phones as a light source and the one heavy duty industrial camouflage flashlight my dad got me that weighs approximately 5 lbs.Well even though the power's out, the water still runs and I have to pee. I walk to the bathroom and it was like angels singing when that toilet bowl light came on. I completely forgot about it. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun rubbing it in my husband's face (metaphorically) about how I was a genius. I used the (clean, unused, straight out of the box) other one I bought for a night light for my daughter.So I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is contemplating buying them or those who don't even know they exist. These are perfect for snakes, hurricanes, or anything in between. Definitely the most hidden and underrated item that should be in every natural disaster preparedness kit.

This fantastic gadget has stopped my half asleep husband from peeing down the side of the toilet! It’s a freaking MIRACLE! 🤣 very responsive & lights up immediately, (has a sensor on the front). It glows nicely, not enough to disturb your slumber, but enough that you can pee with one eye closed & not get woken back up. Best invention ever!

Bought as a joke for my husbands “man bathroom” in our basement. It works and everyone loves it! Won’t lie, it makes peeing at night super easy!

Lights up and activates with motion as advertised. However, it always turns on with red colored light even after setting permanently to a different color which is annoying because I don't want it to be red.

I love this toilet light. No need to turn on the bathroom light to get to the toilet. It turns on inside the toilet with enough light to see your way. Turns on as soon as it detects motion. Excellent!
