What's the measurement of the belt opening?

The belt slots are designed to have a standard 2 inch (5 cm) nylon webbing belt threaded through them. I have these Sea Pearls in many different weights and they all work beautifully with 2 inch nylon webbing.

could these weights be used in a pool?

No in pools that require soft weights. Pools in my area require soft weights to protect the pool.
