I have the Kohler shower valve. It had been dripping about 5 drops per minute for years. And when I turned on hot water in a nearby faucet, the dripping became much worse. This had been puzzling me for a long time. Some of the YouTube videos suggest the rubber O-rings are bad so I bought some and replaced them all but the dripping issue did not get any improvement. I then replaced this pressure balancing unit cartridge and it completely fixed the dripping issue. When I carefully examined the old cartridge, I noticed that a small gap between the left and right parts can move slightly if I press them together. Kohler uses 4 rivets to join the left and right parts, and during the long run, they become loose eventually and causes leaking. I believe this is a design flaw in Kohler. I guess Kohler just wants to save a few cents by using rivets instead of screws, and this is causing slow dripping issue on old shower valves world widely.BTW, this cartridge is pressure balancing unit (PBU). This is NOT a temperature balancing unit. It only compensates the water flow rate in the left and right side water inlets based on the pressure in them are changed, not based on the temperature in them are changed. Kohler shower valve does have the temperature limit stop, but it's on the mixer cap unit, not on this PBU cartridge.So I suggest if your shower valve has the same slow dripping issue, replace this PBU first. If the issue is not resolved, then replace the mixer cap.

Given that my temperature control on the master shower had been junk for a while, all I really cared about was something that worked. Now the original lasted almost 20 years and I'll say that's pretty darn good. I can't say much about this unit except it fit, it worked, I can't tell the difference between this and the original and I was able to actually find it on Amazon. I could not find this mixing valve in any hardware store and was about to find a plumbing store to find it. But getting on amazon probably cuts the price in half vs the plumbing store.

The Kohler Rite-Temp single handle shower faucet in the house we just bought was only putting out hot water. After reading up on the issue, I identified that the pressure balancing valve needed to be replaced. I looked in the big box home stores first, but couldn't find the right part. I purchased this part on Amazon due to the price and availability. It came a day later and I installed it shortly after. It fit a little tighter than the original Kohler OEM part, but with a little twisting and gentle pressing, I eventually got it in place. I have got and cold water in the shower now.

I have an old Sterling shower mixing valve and hot water stopped working. I tried a replacement cartridge from home depot that looked very similar to this one but it leaked. I came close to ripping my wall out and replacing everything but figured I'd give this one a shot. It fits perfectly and works perfectly. I also put on a brand new mixing valve even though it wasn't necessary. Same day shipping was infinitely helpful. Couldn't be any happier.I did use pipe grease on the o-rings liberally as part of the process, FYI.

I purchased this part on August 12, 2023. Disappointed that it has already failed. Do you stand by your product? Will you replace it?

I expected this replacement can solve the long-term dribbling issue of my shower head. After following the instructions, including using lubricants for O-rings on both sides, the problem was not solved. Actually, the leaking becomes even worse. Have to return this product …
