Great teaching
This book is full of solid information on discipleship. I believe that every pastor, lay leader, and basically every Christian should read this book. You may not agree with everything in it, and that's okay, but it will make you think about discipleship and reaching the world for Christ.

Excellent book! Scholarly
Excellent book! Scholarly, insightful, practical, and motivational! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the problems I have had with the kindle version. The table of contents does not work on it. If you want to turn to a particular chapter of the book, you can't. When you are trying to use it for research purposes or go back and review something you have read, it is frustrating. My initial problem with this was right after the book came out. I contacted the publisher. They were unable to fix the problem, but did send me a paperback. I looked at my Kindle version today, about a year later and it still seems broken. Other than that glitch, awesome book.Bill Street,Minister of Spiritual AwakeningBellevue Baptist Church

This is a book written by two practitioners who are both informed and experienced in disciples training. It is practical as well as helpful. Much wise counsels are given in the pages. It comprises four parts. Part one deals with the biblical and theological foundations of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. The second part explores how Jesus made and matured disciples. The last section examines the context for making disciples-the church. It also provides several models at the end for readers to hatch on. The value of this book is in helping Christians to draw on the practicality of discipleship making, from passages to principles, and from principles to methods and models.

Overall this is a good book on the topic of making disciples in Christian theology, but the authors come dangerously close to equating works-based belief (James 2:14-26) with the aspect of Christian identity and/or implying it affects salvation (Titus 3:5). Chapter five is the most controversial part of the book because the authors insist that believers must be radicals (fanatics) in order to be successful Christians (I disagree with this very much). Otherwise this is a good book overall and is beneficial for study.

... point in their ministry to achieve the purpose of Great Commission. It is a must have
This book simplifies clearly how a local church that never started making discipleship is focal point in their ministry to achieve the purpose of Great Commission. It is a must have, must read, and contain all the "must do" practices that will propel a local church upward to a tremendous success in their ministry and in the community that they are planning to reach out to.The authors did a good justice to clearly teach and share what disciple making is using a biblical principles.Thank you.Victor Oluwaji.LU

Are you serious about making disciples?
In an era where baptisms are the ultimate goal and numbers equal success, even though they are declining, the authors go to great detail in how to make disciples and not just converts. Eternity is at stake, therefore, every follower of Christ has a duty to make disciples!
