This is kind of molasses as its called here in the states. Its great in the old gingerbread cakes also in sho fly pie. It comes in a tin, during shipping it may leak as little from a tin like mine did. Screw top would be better, but thats how they have always done it.

Loved Irish Brown Bread when visiting Ireland and have had some good brown bread just with molasses and brown sugar, but using this Irish molasses really gets a much deeper flavor.

The product is great. Shipment from warehouse needs improvement. Can was dented due to minimal protection in flimsy box.

I'm conflicted on how many stars to give this! On the one hand, I bake a lot of British desserts and so I go through a good amount of treacle. I love the treacle itself - that's not the problem. However, this is my first time ordering it from Amazon, and when my package arrived today, every one of the 4 tins of treacle (and all three of the tins of golden syrup I also bought) were dented and had leaked out inside of the box onto the other things in my order. The top seam on one of the cans is now leaky and there's treacle oozing out. If you want treacle, perhaps consider buying it from another source, one that ships it a little better protected!

My mum used to make “Bonfire Toffee” as English people of my generation called it (treacle toffee). So I thought I would make some. Delicious. All my friends, who never heard of it, like it. Very flavorful, dark molasses taste.

this stuff is fine, but know that if you order a 4 pack, they're going to be dented. I tried twice, five of the 8 cans were dented so severely that they were leaking from the seam. The other 3 were dented but not leaking. Amazon won't take a return. They said they'd give me credit for the damaged cans, but they haven't. I also ordered Golden Syrup, but it was shipped with the four pack in a little cardboard base, like a beer flat, that held the cans together inside the plastic wrap. No dents at all. Anyway, what started out as a bargain, turned out not to be.

Fantastic product
