Paul Owens, The Original Dog Whisperer 6 Ft. Chew-Proof Training Tether for Dogs & Puppies

I have two fiesty female dogs who cannot be loose around one another after a bad 'altercation' over a bone. We are trying to improve their relationship and have them around one another, but in a restricted way. These tethers have been very helpful. One of my dogs has attempted to chew it, but gave up quickly. They are great for training and to use in situations like mine wherein you want to provide structured interactions with dogs who don't always see eye to eye.

I use this on occasion when I bring my dog to the office and he wants to wander away from my desk. The length is great for having him stay next to me while I work.

Took our Boxer pit mix camping and we needed a 6 foot leash to hook her to while we were at the campsite relaxing. Those are hard to come by! But we found this one and it worked great! She is a strong girl and we had no problems with this! I would recommend to those with even stronger dogs than mine. We had it attached to a screw in the ground anchor and so that gave her plenty of room to lay down and be comfortable while having to be hooked up.

So, my dog has managed to chew th chew proof tether! So far, however, it looks as though she has just bitten through the plastic and not the wire, but I have to keep inspecting it. The bites through the plastic also make it quite sharp and ragged so I have to be careful where I put my hands when taking her from room to room with me. I’m only taking off one star though, bc it has so far held up much longer than anything else I’ve tried, including the supposedly indestructible mountain climbing rope that my dog chewed through like it was butter!

This 6 ft tether was purchased to help our newly adopted german shepard learn manners and good dog behavior when indoors. It worked as a great intermediate step between being crated versus full unrestricted access to the house and guests. Being about a year old, puppy does like to chew. This tether did get some teeth time from puppy, but it proved to be truly chew proof. I was satisfied with the 6ft length, as the 4ft would have been far to short even for a medium or large dog. The wire does have a strong clear plastic coating which makes it less abrasive, and thankfully, that coating didn't flake off, even in the chewed area. It was just what we needed.

We have tried so many of these with our husky girl and this one is PERFECT for what we needed!! I highly recommend it

Complete waste of money, my 25 pound Boston Terrier chewed against the plastic coating within minutes, which created very very sharp points, I do not recommend this, it becomes very dangerous with the sharp points, this is definitely not chew proof.

Great length for camping but our Great Dane easily snapped the clasp without any great excitement or effort.
