Nice lock that works with my Smartthings HUB and can be controlled remotely
I have used Schlage combination locks before, but this is my first "smart" lock. There are a few to choose from, depending on your needs. This one uses Z-wave wireless to talk to a HUB that supports Z-Wave. (Hubs centralize your smart home automation and have advanced capabilities that non HUB automation may not provide.) I have a Samson Smartthings HUB to control my house smart activities. The Pros: The lock is beautiful. Very eligant and was the style I was looking for. Schlage locks are known for the best in class security. Uses Z-Wave and works with Smartthings hub. (Z-wave is low power so batteries last longer) Easy to install. It simply replaced my previous deadbolt. I spent no more than 15 minutes installing. Connected to my Smartthings HUB with no issues. Add and remove codes remotely You can unlock and lock the door remotely, on a schedule, or some event that your HUB handles. You can have lights or other devices turn on or off when lock is locked or unlocked if you want (controled by HUB). Con: Cost. Instructions for connecting to Smartthings HUB are to minimal. There was conflicting methods from included instructions and online manual. I found no documentation from Schlage or Smartthings on how to setup the lock so I can enter combination codes on the lock from the Smartthings application. The default configuration will only allow lock and unlock from the Smartthings applications and to view the locks current status ( locked or unlocked). I knew that I should be able to manage the lock codes/combination from Smartthings. After lots of searching I found someone on YouTube that walked though the steps to setup codes. Now when someone enters a code to enter the door I am notified on my phone and the name I associated with the code is displayed, so you could know which family member, worker, etc just entered. I would recommend this lock, I will be buying more.

Inter compatibility
This is my 5th Electronic controlled deadbolt lock utilizing a keypad, Biometrics, bluetooth, or RFID and the second Schlage dead bolt with Keypad and Z-Wave technology. Out of all the brands I have purchased and installed Schlage is hands down the best. It was the least complicated and only required a screwdriver to install, no additional drilling required for mounting plates. The ring app gives me feedback directly to my phone if it has been unlocked or locked it works flawlessly with Alexia. I made a video demonstrating how quick the response is to lock and unlock (about 4 seconds) adding a voice code so someone can't just walk up to you window and ask Alexia to unlock. (I used 1234 as a demo voice code only) I can use the Ring app as well to control the lock. A nice feature is I can set the Ring Alarm System to come on when I lock the door and off when it's unlocked. You can give a temp password to a house guest, friend or dog walker and be notified when someone unlocks the door. There is a built in tamper alarm that will sound if the wrong code is entered 4 times, this disables the lock and will require you to wait until the alarm stops or use a key to unlock. You will need a smart bridge to use Alexa or google to control the lock. If you don't have a smart home bridge you will need to get one. This lock Does Not work on Bluetooth or wifi direct. Hue or Ring have smart bridges, that run from $40 to $50 and will allow you to control lighting, thermostats, locks, garage doors, and many more devices. I can even control my hot water heater and monitor for leaks. Schlage, You should have a robust wifi, not for speed but for coverage. If you need better coverage I suggest a Mesh wifi system. They are easy to install and helps with streaming so you don't get buffering when everyone in the house is streaming their favorite shows. I have the TP-Link Deco Mesh WiFi System 3pack. It give great coverage to my Half Acre lot with a 1500 sqf house and a 800 sqf shop, even my RV parked in the farthest corner of my lot can stream on a fire stick. All the products are purchased by me and no compensation has been given. I just like technology when it works for me. Ring and Amazon have great support, there are many videos on You tube that can help.

Doesn't work very well
We had a 15-year-old Schlage lock on our front door that stopped working last week, so I ordered this SCHLAGE BE469ZP CAM 716 unit, which costs three times more than the best-selling digital lock on Amazon, to keep things compatible and uniform. I am a pretty good DIY person with a college degree. I downloaded the manual from the Internet to read and took the old lock out and put it back in twice successfully to practice for the installation. The unit arrived the next day without the backup key, a significant disappointment, but not a deal-breaker for me yet. The only manual was a tiny booklet (4”x4” size with 10 pages including the covers) with simplistic but clear instructions. The new unit looks well-made from the outside, but the internal parts are flimsy for an expensive lock. The installation was effortless at first, but the final part was connecting the tailpiece with the slot in the back of “the inside assembly”. Something was wrong with the “thumbturn” setup, so it can only work if we turn the “inside assembly” sideways. I spent two frustrating hours on a Saturday afternoon struggling to get it to work, but couldn’t. The next day, I tried again and called for support, but it was closed on Sunday. I called them again on Monday, but gave up after waiting for over 30 minutes. It seems like Schlage is a good brand, and its locks are installed all over my neighborhood in the SF Bay Area. However, my experience with installing this lock was quite disappointing. I have to give it 1 star as a warning to other customers. I will return this worthless unit to Amazon and get a working one at Home Depot.

It works well with my Hubitat Hub, lot better than its predecessor, the Z-Wave version.

This is the 5th Schlage electronic lock I've bought (for 3 different properties). It is generally well made and the input pad really does hide fingerprints. In this particular case though it replaces a Schlage lock that simply stopped working after 11 months. Oh well, 1 semi-bad lock out of the 4 previous ones is not bad and they otherwise are reliable, look great, etc.

Installed it in less than 30 min. I had to drill a bigger hole as my old deadbolt was smaller but this was something I expected. Looks great on the door. Connecting it to the hub might be tricky though. I use SmartThings hub that offers two options - installation using QR code or manual. Tried with QR code a number of times - unsuccessfully. I finally made it work by manually selecting the type from the available templates from Schlage in the SmartThings app. Schlage advertises that the there are 10 features that can be controlled by the app - this only applies to the SmartThings Classic app. The new one by Samsung has limitations and you can only lock/unlock, see the battery state and device activity logs. If you want to manage access codes from your mobile device, you have to use the classic app. Anyways, the lock works perfectly fine and can be configured with other smart devices such as open/close sensors to trigger locking routines etc. My kids and the wife liked the improvement and learned very quickly how to operate the lock. The wife was even happier with the SmartThings app that shows the state of the lock and gives the ability to control it remotely i.e. when at work and the kids forgot to lock the door... Actually this is not an issue any more as I configured a routine with my open/close sensor to lock the door automatically. One more thing - The lock has an adapter for four 1.5 volt batteries which give the total power of 6 Volts. Do not connect 9 volt battery to it as the lock does not work with higher voltage than ~6V. Overall - I am very satisfied with the product.
