I used this with my father as he was attempting to regain an appetite after major surgery and a feeding tube for several months as well as having a terrible case of Covid. It did seem to help him be able to eat a little better gradually. Not a magic potion with instant results but with suggested use and consistency it seemed to help. After one bottle he was eating more and weight loss seemed to start to stabilize.

When my mom was contending with reduced appetite due to treatment for an illness, her cardiologist suggested she consider adding elder tonic as a supplement before lunch time. I had heard of elder tonic but confess to having had no idea what it was. As soon as my mom tried it she said it tasted just like a wine-based supplement her own mom had given her in her youth to “open up her appetite”. I personally can’t say whether it works physiologically or it’s a placebo effect, but she feels it helps her appetite and I’m not one to argue with results. As supplements go, on a per-dose basis it seems pretty pricey in light of the vitamin content, but that’s still a very small price to pay given how important it’s been to encourage my mom to stay well-nourished. My rating reflects the fact that it’s worked *for her*; I consider it an important enough part of her supplementation that I’ve taken to keeping a couple of bottles in reserve in case supplies run short.

Caution is advised if you have diabetes

Ordered for my elderly mom who had vitamin B & D deficiency. It has given her energy and she says her nails, which had gotten pretty weak and brittle, are getting stronger!
