I bought this replacement humidifier wick for my Kenmore model 144108 console humidifier. It’s a perfect fit and requires no trimming even though the package front does not list it. It is a direct replacement for the Sears Kenmore filter 14906.

Buying the 5 pack saves a lot of money compared to buying singles at a retail store. Long lasting filters as long as you use an antibacterial water treatment when refilling the humidifier. Reinforced construction increases performance.

I have been purchasing this brand of filter for my humidifier for many years now. After Sears stopped carrying their filters in my local Sears store, I have tried several brands, and found good performance from BestAir. UNTIL NOW. This last shipment (pack of 3) was awful. The brand-new filter stopped wicking water within 3 days, even after immersing it completely in water to "jump-start" the wicking process. I usually get 3-4 weeks per filter, so the 3-pack should have gotten me through the winter months. I decided to return the whole order as it must be defective, without wasting time using the other two filters in the pack. When I requested the return, I was asked if I wanted assistance for proper use of the filters ... which I declined because I have been using these filters for YEARS and I know how it works. Now it has been an additional TWO WEEKS after my return has been received (thank you, UPS Tracking), and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY REFUND. If I receive anything less than a FULL REFUND, I will post an additional negative review. This is inexcusable behavior and I feel like I am being RIPPED OFF!

We buy a few every year and change them often - which maintains our humidity at the level we prefer.

Unlike many filters, this one retains its shape and doesn't collapse, even after being flipped over a number of times to prevent scale buildup. Disadvantages: the paper core tends to break up and leave little shreds in the water. You have to be careful not to cut your fingers on the edges of the metal frame.

The shipping box was in good shape but the individual boxes that the filters are in look like they have gotten wet. Two of the filters are fine but the third is stained brown. It can't be used, who knows what kind of bacteria is in it.
