I had hip replacement surgery and got this cushion for the recovery. It is working out great. I use it at my work chair, kitchen bar chair eating meals and chilling outside on the deck. It is soft, yet firm, very comfortable and adds some height, so keeps hip higher than knee which is great for hip surgery recovery !

I bought this to use after hip replacement surgery, as I need to raise the seat level on my chairs for a few weeks. This is a very stiff foam pillow providing 5 inches of lift. It has a cover like a fitted bottom sheet with a thin synthetic shearling top. It will serve the purpose well I think. It will be more comfortable after I bevel the front edge for sitting. It is definitely thick, measure the lift height you need before purchasing!

Bought this b/c reviewers noted that it was very firm and that’s what I was looking for and hoped it would be. Initially it was fine but quickly it started to squish down and eventually it was getting flatter. So I returned it b/c if after less than a month I figured it would only get worse. Too bad n/c it started off great,

Because of pain and muscle weakness, my husband has been having trouble lifting himself off the couch -- especially after nearly a week in the hospital. This firm cushion makes it so much easier for him to lift himself up. His knees are now in line with his hips -- not noticeably higher. That makes it a whole lot easier for him to stand up. The size is great -- just a bit smaller than thee couch cushion and it's incredibly firm -- definitely a great investment in my husband's comfort!

I like my new 5" thick pillow. It's height helps me in getting up from my recliner easier. It almost fits my whole seat, although it's a bit short on front/back and sides. I'm a bit disappointed in the cover that was included. Although it fits nicely on the pillow, it seems to catch dust and lint from clothing and anything near the chair. So it doesn't stay white very long ... I feel it needs a colored (preferably dark) outside pillowcase. Is it worth the cost? I'd say yes. The size alone is hard to find unless you look for an upholstery pillow??
